Monomad: Cosplay at the Calgary Comic Expo

Getting people to pose is one of the best parts of Comic Expo; it adds another dimension to the event as I have all these fun moments over the years saved so I can look back on them and remember the good times. I used to be a bit nervous asking people to pose, but as I observed others, it felt more natural. I have learned that timing is important, everyone is there to enjoy the event, so if I see some amazing costumes but also notice the people in them have been stopped 4 or 5 times before I even approach, I will try to give them a moment of peace and hope I can catch up later. That way, I am being considerate of their time and not forcing them into yet another photo op. I also think that happier people make better photos, so its important to also be polite and compliment their costumes in a genuine way.

I've always wanted to go to a Comic Expo, in my country they are held, but they are quite far away, but I do like the idea of taking some pictures in these places, it looks like you have a good time. Excellent photos!

Thanks, yes it is such a great place to find quality photo ops. That's why I go back every year; I never get bored as long as I can find some creativity!
