Monomad: Squirrel in the Snow

Wildlife photography can be a really fulfilling experience, I find when you have a good long zoom lens that lets you take crisp images at a distance it really helps let you observed nature at its best. Its even great when it is just outside your living room, as my patio opens up to my front lawn which is large enough for wildlife to have a little mini habitat to play in. When its cold and there is snow on the ground sometimes the squirrels will avoid it for a few days but inevitably they will need to come looking for food, maybe they like the exercise as well. Even in the winter I don't have to wait long to encounter something which gives a nice respite form waiting to be able to get out into nicer weather in the spring and summer.

In my country there are no squirrels, but since I was a child I saw them in cartoons and I always found them fascinating, because their speed, their appearance... and the day I saw one for the first time in Venezuela, I cannot describe such emotion, it seemed a girl seeing that little animal move quickly from one tree to another, and I can tell you... that I love them....

Thats a great story, they are exciting to watch. Even though I see them often I never get tired of them I hope you get to observe many more in the future!
