Monomad: White-tailed Jackrabbit

White-tailed Jackrabbits can be seen year round in Calgary. I am lucky to get them hanging out on my front lawn. The tend to be nocturnal sleeping during the day under trees then waking up to forage in the evenings. Sometimes I can catch them early in the day as well looking for a snack before bed. In the winter their coats turn white to blend into their surroundings and in the spring and summer they can be found with grey coats of fur. Sometimes I see them in groups, they startle pretty easily so I have learned to be slow and calm around them so they don't go scurrying off in a hurry.
