Water Abstracts

I think one of the first things that drew me in when I started experimenting with photography was water. It can take so many shapes and forms, it can be captured with fast or slow shutter speeds. It can require following certain rules and techniques to be able to get the result you want. Then it can break all of that with its random ability to go off in any and all directions when it is disturbed or when it flows. I like catching the abstracts; its almost an endless experiment in how to expose an image. Slow shutter speeds, if done right, can produce a silky smooth effect; faster shutter speeds can freeze some action instantaneously and give form to a fleeting shape. Its effect is very refreshing on many levels.
