Meet me again on the occasion of today and here I would like to reiterate some of the images that I have prepared in the past few days. In the past few weeks I have always been busy with activities at my place of residence because here we have several fish rearing ponds. The fish farm that is where we live is a job opportunity for us to produce fish seeds to give to the communities around this area.

Having several pools in our residence makes us very useful in carrying out activities in the area where we live. We don't need to work away from home but we do have a place to live in the complex and there are several ponds for freshwater fish farming. Here we raise several freshwater fish such as tilapia, catfish, carp, and also carp. Among the several types of fish that are here, the most we do spawning is tilapia because tilapia is one of the freshwater fish that has high economic value and also has a lot of market demand.

There are two types of tilapia that we keep here, namely nile tilapia and teak tilapia or red tilapia. the two types of tilapia have their respective features at the level of market demand. In the area where we cultivate, the people here prefer agile tilapia, but if we send it to the provincial capital or to the city of Banda Aceh, they prefer the red value.Usually, those who like red tilapia are the people who market the fish after being kept in restaurants. These two types of tilapia are also cultivated the same way but they have different colors and if we look at it with our eyes, it is certainly more beautiful in red tilapia.in the picture above I show a lot of red tilapia and nimble tilapia, all of which are the parents here.

If we want to breed tilapia, of course we have to prepare the parents of the tilapia. Before we prepare the parent first we also prepare a container for spawning. The container for spawning can be in the form of an earthen pond or a concrete pond and you can also use a net in the pond. With several techniques we can do this according to the wishes of fish cultivators. For here we use the technique of spawning in a net that has been made in the pond. Because if we cultivate in nets, of course it is very easy when we take the seeds after they mate. The picture above is a picture of me with some nimble tilapia brooders that are at our place. At that time I was preparing the broodstock of agile tilapia and I saw the male and female sires so that when they released them into the spawning container the ratio was equal.So the comparison we did was for one male parent and 3 for female parent. In one net container we released about 32 tails, 8 tails for the male parent and 24 tails for the female parent, So the ratio is 1 to 3.After releasing the brood into the net, we just have to wait about 3 weeks to produce seeds or larvae from the fish. In spawning we must also provide sufficient feed for the mother so that they quickly produce seeds.

If the parents we have bred have released larvae, we will take the larvae and move them to another place.This must be done immediately because if we don't move, the parents in the net will eat the fish larvae that have been released by the female parent. Here we have to keep the time so that we are on time when we take the seeds and when we take the seeds we must also be careful so that the seeds are not easy to stress.Usually we spread the existing seeds or larvae into the nursery pond and after two weeks in the nursery pond we also have to do grading, The function of grading is to separate large and small sizes so that the fish we keep have a good level of uniformity.The hall where we work is indeed a hall that sells seeds of various kinds of freshwater fish. Usually we sell seed sizes of 3 to 5 cm and some are from 5 to 8 cm with different prices.Usually after we get a lot of seeds we will notify the relevant agencies to distribute them to the people who have fish rearing ponds.Sometimes the service also provides assistance to communities engaged in freshwater fisheries.

The location of this fish hatchery is in North Aceh district, this fish hatchery belongs to the North Aceh district marine and fisheries service. So this is not a privately owned hall but it is a hall managed by the local government of North Aceh district. The existence of this hall is very beneficial for communities engaged in fisheries who live in North Aceh district.Every year there must be procurement of seeds to be distributed or given assistance to communities in need. So some of the pictures above are pictures of the location or place of fish rearing in our working center. In the picture we can also see that there are several buildings here and those are the buildings where the employees who work here live. And there are also buildings to be prepared for students or students who practice here to complete their field of study at their school or lecture.So with the existence of this hall, it really functions a lot both for the community and for people who are doing education in the field of fisheries.If there are people who practice here and we as technicians here have to teach them and carry out activities related to the world of fisheries.
