Fungi Friday || Stereum ostrea or Turkey tail mushroom || 29 July 2022
Hello friends, how are you all today, hopefully on this happy day we can still carry out activities smoothly and have a healthy body.
Very grateful that in the past few days the rain has started to fall again, and the previous Sunday the weather was very dry so many plants withered with drought. The first day of rain was last Tuesday and every night there are also drizzling rains that always wet the wood and soil so that some plants can be green again. Previously I had looked for some herbs around the place where I lived, but because the previous conditions were very dry, of course I did not find any herbs around my house.
I went to a forest that had a river and it was always damp and I saw that there was a lot of wood around the river. On the rotten wood I found mushrooms that are so beautiful for us to look at. This type of mushroom Stereum ostrea from some people also mentions this mushroom is a turkey tail mushroom, which belongs to the genus Stereum . Fungus like this is considered a pathogen for logs because this fungus can accelerate the rotting of logs that have been cut. This fungus grows sticky on the stems which are shaped like a shell that does not have a stem. This fungus cannot be consumed by humans because it contains pathogenic pathogens that are not beneficial. All right friends, let's see some mushrooms that have been prepared.
Stereum ostrea or some people call it fake turkey tail mushroom, they grow in groups that stick very strongly to tree trunks and around them we can see green moss growing because these tree trunks are always wet because it is close to the water. so the splashes of water hitting the rocks near the river can wet the stems of this plant.
We can see from several angles of shooting and this mushroom we can say is a little big in size and has a very good color,They can thrive even though before the dry season, but this place is still fertile because it is very close to the waters and is always wetted by these waters.
On the rocks in the river there was stuck a tree of wood and there I saw this mushroom. It looks like this mushroom is also the same as the one above but it is still very young and the color is still like this.
Those are some of the mushroom displays that I have found in a forest near a river. Hopefully the presence of some of these mushrooms can entertain us all in this beloved community. Don't forget to thank all community members and seniors who have given Opportunity for me.
