Double standard actions. Double standards. People with double standards. That's what I thought at the moment of reading the topic proposed today by @latino.romano. Double standards.
When something benefits you, but clashes with your ideals. When you disagree with the way, but benefit from the end. The classic "do as I say, but I don't do it". We see it every day in various situations in life.
The one who fights against the system by kicking a dumpster with his new Nike, or the one who tweets against companies from his latest Iphone model. The one who fights for the environment by traveling from one place to another in an old van that kills a dolphin every time he starts it. The mafiosi's wives, those who don't agree with their husbands' practices, but live in full swing. Hypocritical people who reproach acts that they also perform. Unfaithful girlfriends offended by macho gestures of their self-conscious husbands. Or women who accept that a handsome man compliments them, but criticize the ugly one who does it. Mothers who sentence other children for something their own children do, or married couples who criticize the arrival of people from underdeveloped countries, but then have chauffeurs or employees in their homes who are not exactly autochthonous. Those who vent their anger against politicians for their malpractice with society's money, but they themselves try to evade taxes in any way.
And countless other cases. If you want you can put examples in the comments, and if not you can start knitting with double-pointed needles, mine does it and she has spectacular carpets.
And this double standard can only be solved in one way: being true to oneself. Trying to be consistent with our actions, doing what we say and saying what we do.
