I believe the first school of a child is the home and the child's parents serves as the teacher. Most times the basis of whatever behavior a child emulates starts from the parents, that's why it's very important for parents to have valuable characters because Children are smart beings who either learn directly or indirectly from them.

Since we are all are with either our parents or guardians while growing up, we consciously or unconsciously do as they do without their prior knowledge. In that same way, it's not different from me, I learnt a lot from my parents, some of which I'm using up till now and it has been helping me greatly. Today I will be sharing few of the essential virtues I learnt from my Parents.

From My Mom:

The act of teaching others

My Mom is a teacher and she's still teaching till date, so I can say all my life has been in and out of classroom. Through her, I learnt how to patiently teach someone in a satisfactory way, till now she's never in a rush to explain a thing to someone. Her explanations are always in steps which will be slow and steady.

While growing up, she works as a volunteer in my Church to teach less privileged children so she always takes us (my siblings and I) along with her to assist her in class. Through that, I learnt the act of teaching and imparting others adequately without her sitting me down to tell me what to do or not. I got to also understand that the profession called teaching is a gift and if one either works or moves with anyone gifted in that line, one can possess it.

Budgeting and planning
When you talk of budgeting my Mom has first class in it, she has an exercise book for her scale of preference titled things to buy. She budget herself in such a way that foodstuffs or basic needs at home never get exhausted till our next purchase.

Her planning is just so accurate that while growing up I thought she had a spirit that usually direct her. Through her I learnt that what's on your budget mustn't be altered except on special occasions if the situation is beyond ones control. I also learnt how to save for the dry days and never to covet about what others have.

From My Dad:

Neatness and Arrangements
I have a very strict father who doesn't take nonsense so he loves everywhere to be tidy and well arranged, If you see the way my Dad arranges his room, you will think he is a student. He does his things in a unique way that makes one speechless, so he hates someone to appear shabby. My Dad doesn't do things with rush, so he makes arrangements on time before he does a thing.

If my Dad should place down a thing and it faces the left, if anyone touches it he will know. He doesn't keep things that aren't useful to him, his ideology is, if a particular thing won't be of use to you again disposed it, there is no point keeping it to yourself. My Dad will say too many loads in the house won't allow fresh air to come into the house, so he hates things littering around.

I can proudly say I learnt lots of habits from my parents and I would make sure to pass it on to my kids through the way I behave and does my daily activities.
