How was the moon formed? Why is the moon important?

The moon illuminates our night world. The moon reflects light from the sun and sends it to us on Earth. We enjoy the illuminated beautiful night sky. Moonlight is silver. I can't count how many times I've sat in the bright silver light. We know that the Earth, the Moon are positioned side by side and the Moon is traversing the Earth in a regular manner. But the question is how did this beautiful moon come to the sky? How was the birth of the moon? Why does the moon only illuminate the earth? We will find the answers to all these questions today.

The creation of the moon

Now let's go to the beginning of the creation of the Earth. When our sun was formed. Then the indistinct dust in space accumulated together to form the proto-Earth, the initial state of our earth. The dust accumulates to form a slag which is quite hot. It attracts the surrounding dust with gravitational force. This initial state of Earth creation is called the proto-Earth.

A Mars-like body called Theia. This planet is hurtling towards the proto-Earth at a speed of 15 km/s. Debris from the impact of the body Theia and Earth is scattered across Earth's space. This debris creates a ring that revolves around the Earth.

This debris accumulates over time. As a result, our moon was born. The collision between the body Theia and Earth caused the Earth to tilt. Scientists believe that this is the reason for the creation of seasons on Earth.

This theory suggests that the moon is basically a part of the earth. This part of the earth did not mess with the earth. The moon has been paying off Earth's debt forever. It has been giving light to the world for eternity.

What is the importance of the moon for our lives?

Have you thought what would happen to the earth if there was no moon? There would be no tides on earth without the moon. Tides affect Earth's weather. Tides move warm water from one place to another. As a result, the underwater climate is balanced. Without tides, animals would have become extinct.

The moon creates the Earth's seasons. The moon balances the tilt of the earth. The moon helps tilt the earth as much as is good for life on earth. If the Earth tilts less than this, the seasons will disappear, and if the Earth tilts more, the Earth will be covered in ice. This will result in extreme climates that are not conducive to life.

The speed of the earth would increase if the moon did not exist. 6 to 12 hours will be a day. As the Earth's speed increases, the atmosphere will change and wind speed will increase. A hostile climate will arise where it will be difficult or impossible to save our lives.

Anyway our moon is very important for our life. It has made our life more comfortable. May the moon live forever in the earth's sky. We don't want to lose dear Moon.

That's the theory I also believe, the moon was formed due to the collision of Gaia and Theia, the moon had an important role for us since it serves as a natural satellite to earth then like what you've said it balances the climate and move of the ocean, the gravitational force of earth and moon is the reason why our planet is habitable, by the way, I like your content as always since it's full of information and it suits on my interest.

Yes, you are right. We must need Moon to survive on the earth.

Nice review. Check your links. Some of them aren't pointing to the real sources.

I have three types of links attached to my post

  1. Linking to a topic that helps readers learn more but without extracting any information from it. For example, in the first paragraph of this post, I have added links to The moon and the sun. No information was taken from this link.
  2. In this post I have collected some single information and linked it directly to the text.
  3. The original source is linked at the end. That's where the original thought came from. This post may differ from that source though.

Ah, ok, but when I click on Theia, the site it redirects me to doesn't talk about Theia, but about a rock band from New Zealand.

I've never had the thought of how was the moon formed, yet I asked myself few times about its importance, yet I always end up forgetting to look it up.

Talking about its importance, I've never known that it has such various and important roles when it's about its relation to earth, I'm really impressed!
