It was time - my first HPUD post and goal setting

July is already here. Half the year went by very swiftly. Time is waiting for no-one. It was high time for me to write a HPUD post.

This is my first HPUD post! Yay!! I guess this is as good a time as any to start the tradition. Every month I planned to do the HPUD but never got around to it. Now 6 months have passed in 2023 and here I am. I was never inclined to do a HPUD post on the first of the month because I felt as though I can power up any time. However, in the spirit of HPUD - I will start to do it on the first of the month as well. Afterall, I have already done my first LPUD.

I just powered up 100 Hives.

Setting SMART goals and measurement
Although my Hive birthday indicates that I have been around since 2017 - I have been away for at least 2 years. Then when I am here, I blogged sporadically. Things can only get better. The platform has changed a lot since I started and my personal life as well. My offline life was and still is too demanding. However things I am managing things a bit better and I can spend a bit more online. In my offline life, I value the importance of goal setting - therefore it is time to set some Hive goals as well.

I think everyone is familiar with the meaning of SMART - so I will not bore you. When one sets SMART goals - there is a guide to measure against.
There are so many quotes on measuring things but these are 2 of my favorites:

Being SMART about it
Having goals and checking my statistics will shine a light on how things are - versus where I want to be. This will keep me focused and encourage me thus helping me to grow while managing my time. Afterall, if I set goals, I will now know where I want to go. If I know where I want to go - I can measure where I am at periodically. I can see then see whether it was realistic and achievable during the time frame I set myself. If it was not - then I can always adjust my goals to be SMART-er.

I earned 148.65 HP in the month of June. That might not look very impressive but as I mentioned I wrote when I could.
With the support of amazing curation communities and everyone visiting my blog, I aim for a minimum of 7,500 HP by the end of the year. That is approximately 320 HP per month.

I am grateful that I have never needed to power down since starting on this platform. I hope to keep it that way until I can achieve higher heights. However, I will not get ahead of myself. 😀 I plan to power up 100 Hive monthly as well. So fingers crossed. This is here as a record of my goals/plans.
