A blend of traditional and Modern Fashion , how I transformed a traditional attire to a modern design of Headwear
Hello Hive
So today we are having the wedding ceremony of one of my friends a fellow hiver on the Blockchain.
Having picked the color code of the day to be white and magenta, we were all giving the traditional headgear to wear which has been woven in wine and gold color.
Been a seasmtress who wants to look her best in this occasion most likely for several purpose but importantly to advertise my skills to attract potential customers for my fashion business, I sewed a lovely white dress for myself.
Having sewn my dress I showed it to few of my friends who commented that it look more official than a traditional outfits and that it will be very inappropriate for me to wear the traditional headgear on the white dress .
This traditional piece of material for the headgear is the common clothes for the day and everyone is expected to tie their own.
Not wanting to be left out I thought about ways to transform this traditional hair cover into a modern fashion that will fit my outfits
It was at twilight that this idea dropped in my mind and I went straight to work, now I have made something official from a traditional material that can go with my dress without altering the outfits for the day
Modern headgears are made in forms of fascinators or Zara Caps. They are official headgears that can go well with our corporate dresses.
This is the process you can follow to make this bowtie headband.
Cut three pieces of the traditional material in this form
- 22" length (head circumference)
- 9" for the rope we tie at the end of the headband
- 20" for making the bow.
I secured the frail edges and proceed to create a bow
Next I attached the bow to the hair tie using needles and thread
If you want this dazzling you can chose to add some embellishments to your hair gear but I wouldn't want that now since my dress has so much of that already.
You're a master of all things, you sew then you make hair ties wow that's amazing dear. Great job
