Today I made something very needful for myself from am old piece of cloth. As a Christian I often feel complete each time I go to church with my hair covered. Although some women are more confident when they have their beautiful hair opened and this has been a subject of dispute for a long time within the church setting, if women are meant to leave their hair covered or opened in church. Argument regarding this matter has been on for years and some of these with scriptural backup fo their claim. I am not here to talk about if covering of the hair is right or wrong, let everyone do what pleases them as long as their conscience is pure, personally I feel confident in church when my hair is covered.

Then comes the problem of which hair cover to use with which outfit.
One has to appear fashionable and not disorganized matching different color of scarfs🧣 with their clothes. Having the right kind of scarf for my different colors clothes has always been a challenge and on most occasions I go late to church looking for what scarf to wear with which clothes.

That is just about to stop.
I went through my closet and check out my collection of clothes picked out the most regular colors of black, white, blue, yellow and red.
I will be making different scarf designs and hair covers.
For any color combinations of outfit I will get to wear, they will contain these colors and the problem of matching scarf and cloth will be out to an end

Making my very first scarf from recycling a lingerie

Making as many as 5 scarfs will require purchasing materials from the market and with the high cost of thing I am not ready for that, so let make good use of what we have at home.

I have this lingerie I have worn only a few times ever since I got it. It feels so harsh and not comfortable for my skin and have been abandoned for about 2years now in my wardrobe now. Most times lingeries are made with laces of which some of them can be itchy to our skin. I am happy to not just recreate something useful with using with it but this serve as a way to de-cluster my saturated cubboard.

First I ripped of the straps of the lingerie

Cut this into various sections because I wanted the scarf to be large enough.
Then I stated joining the pieces in different directions and sewed the edges into some neat hemmings

Since I don't wanna wear a boring scarf I bought this lace trimings and decided to sew it round the edges of the scarf

And the thought of Embellishment came again..

I don't know if adding those extra glittery details is better, you can help me judge that with these two pictures.

Now I have that one lovely scarf that can match every black outfits in my bag plus I can match the color with other clothes of choice and the problem of scarfs that gets me late to church is hence solved

Thank you for staying till the end .

Welcome dear @monica-ene we are pleased that you are sharing with us your beautiful sewing work, good that you are making your scarves with those garments that you no longer use for being a little rustic fabrics, but for this outfit if you are doing well and you can make several turbans of different colors the truth is that you look very good. Thanks for sharing with us.😃🤗
