Hello Hive

Today I'm celebrating my very own sister. The Ada of our family, the very first child of my parent, you know one thing they often say about Ada's they are usually the second mother in the family and my sister is no different.

She has been both a mother and a strong support for me and my siblings and because Today is her birthday i decided to make a surprise birthday outfit for her.

1000125100.jpg

It might end up being a surprise birthday if I can get my hands on some pastry and doughnuts later in the day. Actually ber birthday has been one of the most neglected yearly, being the eldest sister she is hardly conscious of herself but always looking out for others.

This is our own little way of saying thank you to her. My elder sister is already in school being a teacher making me postponed all the events till later in the evening.

I have her this outfit to try out for me just yesterday and she was assuming that it is one of those clothes I make for customers looking for who will test fit it for me before the original owner arrives.

She commended the fabric and how much she loves it not knowing that this will be a gift for her.

I was actually gifted this pretty fabric as my own Christmas gift by one of my beautiful friends being a gift I equally decided to extend this gesture of gift to my sister

Having brought out the fabrics

I swung into action here cutting the skirt part of the outfit with it's lining

Next was the stitching of the various parts of the skirt, the dart and fixing of the skirt band

1000125088.jpg

1000124728.jpg

And having done that the three quarter skirt is now completed here

1000125151.jpg

Having completed the skirt I continues with the upper bodice cutting the blouse adding seam allowances and dart.

1000124729.jpg

I did the stitching of the necklines turning them over and then cut out a three quarter straight sleeves for the upper bodice of the blouse

1000124768.jpg

1000124769.jpg

Next step was the peplum part of the blouse which I had cut a people of 9" and turned it over with the linings here

1000125079.jpg

Having attached this peplum to the blouse, a very lovely peplum blouse and skirt was completed here.
I wish that I can add more embroidery to this but apparently that will cost me more but this is good for now.
