Communist preparing for river bank gardening and Vegetable 🥒 cultivation.

Just as the Overflown river water is beginning to go down, preparations have started on how to plant Okro, Vegetables and other soup items by the river bank.

This particular Oyun river has both Advantage and Disadvantages.
The advantages is that we grow vegetables here and use the river water as a source of supply to wet the plants. It's a commercial community gardening where everyone is allocated a portion to grow 🪴 his vegetables and later sell to the market or community.

You can see the generator used to pump water from the river to all the segmented area where the vegetables are planted.

Once the Generator is fueled, the connected pipe conveys water to even the farthest place possible .

The river sure has this good advantages and vegetables from here feeds the entire Oyun community and we equally take the rest to the market.

A proper care of the river will pose greater benefits.

The Disadvantages I talked about is having this same river overflow it's boundaries into our other farms like rice beans and other crops we have planted at some good distance away.
It causes serious damages whenever it gets Overflown.

Dumping of refuse in the water has made the river become shallower over the years and hence during the periods of heavy rains it doesn't hold enough water but rather get Overflown.

Some damages from this year flood, the breaking down more walls and boundaries surrounding it.

A local church affected by the flood, it broke down some walls and entered some homes.

Below is what the river bank and previous year vegetables were reduced to, you hardly know that these portions were cultivated last year. Everything was swept away.

Both the river water and the river bank is of so much commercial values and like you have seen, community are begining to come around to prepare for this year's gardening.
If the river is of so much commercial value, giving it more attention and care would benefit everyone here .
It will minimize the flooding and vegetables can be planted all year round without having the river Overflown to wash it away.
