Cultivating more land, Transplanting sweet potato stems and more farm work
Hello Hive

Gradually we are planting different crops, moving from one crop to another. The varieties of the food we eat are the food crops that we basically plant. Yesterday I was planting more potato stems as we found new and better producing variety of this potato.
Remember that I planted some earlier this year, those potatoes aren't very productive like the new ones I just found recently.

People used to call this sweet potato but after tasting the different varieties that we have planted over time, I just know that not all of them are sweet.
Some have developed a taste that is not palatable at all. Hence whenever we plant we wish to plant the best producing specie that will equally have some sweet taste.
We have divided the work among ourselves and while some cultivated the land other transplanted the sweet potatoes

We got the newer seedlings from the improved/better vegetative parts we have just found with another of our farmer friend here

A good portion of the land was cultivated and like you already know how much we often engage in mixed cropping, these potatoes will soon be paired with some corn and sorghum. Either of the two cereals does not interfere with the growth of the potatoes and in the latter days we can also plants some beans here when the potatoes have been harvested. The ridges were well cultivated and at a reasonable height above the ground to be more effective in bearing the roots of the crops such that whenever one crop is harvested, they can still be good enough to grow other crops.

Cultivation of the land was done manually. I recently found out and have seen how some people planted their crops without cultivating the land. They couldn't engage in the manual labour of doing so and since there was no tractor, the chose the plant their crops in the ground without first raising the soil via cultivation.

For planting potatoes you cannot plant it directly on the ground as they are root and tuber crops. They need the soil to be raised well enough and to even cover their roots before they can bear their tubers.
Cultivation is an essential exercise that is necessary before planting certain crops.
Great work on the farm. It is nice to see how carefully you choose better sweet potato stems and prepare the land before planting. Wishing you a very productive harvest.
I can't wait for a productive harvest too. Thank you so much

Buen suelo. Se ve con bastante buena estructura.Debe ser muy fértil. Un lugar llano además como para aplicar técnica de rigo con enrollador o máquina de pivot. Saludos desde Cuba
