Diy of Anas lovely A line dress

Hello Hive

The finished look of Anas dress looks great on her. I didn't expect this fullness while making the dress since it was simply a yard and half of fabric and I wanted t66o make a maximum use of it. I

The combination of net lace to make the yoke added some extra beautiful touches to the dress.
But the dress never got to have a sleeve.

There was not even a single pieces of the fabric left for me to try form even the simplest design of sleeve.

So the best way I could complete the dress was to use a bias and tape all the edges of the dress including the armhole area or unless if am bent on buying extra accessories like more of the net lace so I can be able to use that for the sleeve part of the dress.

Any plain color of scarf can be use with he dress, a pink color velvet fabric because been catholics and in this part of the world we are expected to cover our hair to church but I couldn't make a sleeve out of this let alone with scarf.

Still thinking of a head band probably from the tiniest of the left over pieces, a headband will be perfect to match with this.

But for now, I love that I was able to make the maximum use of a 6yard fabric to make something beautiful for me and my sister.

Although was able to save a last part of the fabric and made a simple sleeve for my own blouse, there is no scarf for our outfit.
I have to provide a matching scarf for our outfit and then see you on Sunday after mass for some lovely shot.

Am I not been childish, always wanted to wear a new outfit first to church before any other place unless its an English outfit.

Both dresses look really beautiful. Love the lace you added to the dresses.

Lol, I don't think so. Unless I make a dress for a particular event, I like to wear Ankara to church first.

Oh Wao, I remember when I was a child my mom used to dress my sister and me in similar dresses and I loved it.

Oh Wao, recuerdo que cuando era niña mi mamá nos vestía a mi hermana y a mi con vestidos similares y eso me encantaba

I think the dress looks cute as it is. No sleeves necessary as the bias binding gives it such a polished touch. And both of you together will be super stunning. It is interesting to see how different the same fabric can be used for the more "adult" dress for you and thee more girly one for your sister. I hope you will find a solution for church... could you use a different kind of lace or fabric for a matching scarf? Perhaps in white or dark blue (I don't know if you have anything in your stash 😊)?

Am working on something for a head band and if it doesn't work, will have to search for a scarf.

"could you use a different kind of lace or fabric for a matching scarf? Perhaps in white or dark blue"

Thanks for this, an idea just popped up for me to sew a turban..
And probably embellish it in this same fabric color.
I will try that too and see what I can make.

Thanks for your kind comments and support always.
