Fashion, style and class begins with fabrics much as the Inspiration to cut and sew beautiful garments can be traced to fabrics as well.
Fashion illustration helps us to create a image from our inner mind of we want certain fabrics to sit in our bodies.
The textile industries have also developed so much that the beauty been created there is beyond our imaginations.
Some fabrics are so stunning that you don't need to sew any complicated styles with them in order not to order alter the beautiful pattern imprinted on the fabrics by the textile industries.
Every seamstress should learn fabrics as they are differentiated by texture, materials( cotton or synthetic nylon) and the likes.
The kind of materials used to manufacture a fabrics determines its price.
Some fabrics are so expensive that a trouser length could cost as much as $400 and above, the cheapest fabrics you can get is for $3 and these are very light transparent ones with not much use.
I needed new stock of fabrics an visited this store, the largest one in the city and you can see from the arrangements that tones of fabrics is loaded here.
Different quality and maker, all imported from different countries, Ghana, south African prints, Holland, and others.
Visiting stored like this you have to come prepared for whatever it is you want to buy, as millions of naira flow in and out of this store on daily basis and the same goes with other fabric stores across the world.
Does clothing deserve to be this expensive, you cab hardly buy a $2 fabrics or clothes unless it is thrift or second hand wears.
Those in fashion line and industries understand the business of fashion but for upcoming designers like us, we can't afford to buy expensive fabrics and end up designing something odd.
But the textile industries sure has alot of investors as well seeing how expensive some fabrics could be.
Well thank goodness that there are average affordable ones for us to work with and I was able to pick up a few
Christmas is fast approaching and everywhere around fabrics stores gets clouded as it is a norm here for people to buy new clothes at Christmas since not everyone is able to afford new clothes within the year, people struggle to at least buy a new pair at Christmas.
Fabrics are the one of the sure bases and foundations of fashion and I hope you are delighted to see some lovely prints.

Hi @monica-ene, so much fabric to see and choose from, I love buying fabrics, it is so relaxing to see so many designs colors and shapes that I would like to wear them all ha, ha, but as you point out we have to go with the fixed goal in what we need, otherwise we will end up buying what we don't need and spending more than stipulated.

Fabric business is one of the most expensive business to do, as people can't do without seeing clothes,
And you are right about a good seamstress knowing more about different types of fabric and the best suited styles to make with them.

I am delighted to see such a large store full of beautiful printed fabrics. Unfortunately it is too expensive for you, but I am glad to know that you were able to take home some fabric to continue designing and have a new dress ready to wear for Christmas.
I always get lost when I visit fabric stores, there are so many different fabrics in there that confuse your mind and make you want them all. I usually end up to can't afford everything I want to buy cause good quality fabrics cost a lot, so I feel you.
