First weeding exercise in the Fast Growing Pepper

Hello Hive

Happy new day to us all, it's a huge blessing to see the light of a new day and we are privilege to wake up hale and hearty.

Yesterday we started the first round of weeding on our lettuce field as the lettuce are currently growing really fast.

These lettuce are about two weeks old now and you can see how much they have progressed within this time, like I said earlier they may take up to 8weeks before we begin harvesting them. Hence it is absolutely important to start taking care of them on time, keeping the farm clean and wetting them with enough water so that they can do well on time.

Being one among the veggies we are carful about, weeding has to be done early so that grasses will not grow to overwhelm the lettuce. Lettuce are one veggies we love to grow with adding herbicides to them at all, this is one of the reasons we carry out this evercise soon as grasses begin to show up. Apart from being fragile and some selective herbicide may end up killing the veggies, it is also safer for health to engage in manual weeding.

This particular piece of land will also be the portion where we will be planting rice soon as this lettucess are harvested. If the place is kept clean and grass free, we may not need to spend any more money to apply some herbicides before planting the rice. The soil is well drained for planting rice now but before the month runs out or the lettuce can be harvested the place may have been submerged hence preparation are being made so that by this weekend we can start growing some rice in the nursery preparing them to be planted in this very soil.

Hopefully this lettuce will not encounter any challenge while growing and we would have some good harvest here.
