Growing Dry Season Corn and a Major Secret to managing Farm Capital
Hello Hive

A pleasant new day to everyone, I hope that we all had a good night rest. Today is a day that we will be using some farm generators to water and irrigate the vegetables being grown here. Having this generation pumping engine has been a blessing that has eased the labour and stress of growing vegetables during the dress seasons.

Otherwise all the villagers here often use buckets to carry water from the river on their heads to come wet the farm. Growing vegetables this way is the only means by which we have the availability of vegetables all year round. Regardless of the scourging sun that comes to dry up the water from the grounds fast enough the crops still thrive.

Since diesels are expensive and not to joke with we often device means to maximize the use of every fuel that is being purchased to water this farm. Instead of planting a single type of crops we engage in mixed cropping. You can see how that some garden eggs are growing here along side corn.
Aside corn and garden eggs there are other varieties of vegetables planted here. The scotch bonnets that are about 6weeks old, the African spinach and Lagos spinach, some moringa stems and lot more. In another portion of the river bank there are multiple rolls of fluted pumpkins been grown here.

This rich farming site has been put to good use for growing vegetables during the dry seasons whenever the rain are out of season. There has not been any provision for irrigation farming in this part of the state and I believe that it is a good thing that the local community are making good use and taking advantage of this available water source. Not many people or the government gives priority to farming here even though everyone loves to eat fresh and healthy meals.

The best time to water the farm is in the mornings or evening as some prefer and there is only about 2-3 water pumping machine in the whole community and anyone who doesn't have a machine has to lease from neighbors at a price to grow their own vegetables. It is important for government to empower more people with these equipment so that more food can be produced locally to crash the current expensive market price of both foods and vegetables. But on our own parts we are doing the little we can to feed our families and community.
