I have almost thought that harvest day for jute mallow won't come like it did today having experienced some hard time gardening which is no greater challenges other than the scarcity of water in this environs.

It's been two whole months this jute have been planting and normally harvest is supposed to start taking place as early as from 5th week after planting. This has experienced some stunted growth and having giving it some extra time in the garden it hasn't grown past this height.

I need to have them harvested to make soup either way although I didn't realize that this will come much earlier. Having visited the local market yesterday to get some vegetables I noticed that the ones brought to the market aren't as fresh as the ones in my garden at home, they must have been experiencing thesame issue as myself for them to have Harvested and brought that quality of jute to the market. Hence I reported back to my garden to make use of what I have.

With the quantity of jute I have I might be able to harvest some for about 3 consecutive time for use.

Except the jute we want to keep for seed production, this kind of veggies is a one time harvest. It isn't like water leaf that harvest is done by breaking off branches while the entire plant continues continues growing.

With jute mallow you pull up the plant from the root, pick out the leaves and throw away the stems. The leaves are the only useful parts.
If I want some seeds from what is planted here I will need to leave some of the plants to get to seed production stage which I might actually do since this is both a gardening and a learning process for better gardening activities next time.

Over all I am glad that I do have some vegetables to harvest from and this did same me some cents I could have spent in the market 🤣😂🤗.
