Manual cultivation of more lands for Farming, Tasseling corn and more farm work
Hello Hive

Welcome to my farm blog for today.
Sincerely I can't wait to eat some roasted corn right now and even yesterday that topic became a debate on Twitter about how some states have begun the harvest of their corn. For this to happen I believe that a lot of people equally engage in eating corn as food.
This particular crop can be boiled or roasted for eating and when that time comes I will show us the various methods we used to prepare and enjoy corn grains.

Yesterday had us cultivating more space for farming. Bulk of the land cultivated is now being done manually as there is no hope of getting any tractor to assist us with that task here.

Before now the hard labour is often considered as men's task but most women now carry hoes to cultivate the land especially housewives whose husbands are civil servant and do not have time to engage in farm work the more. Farming is one of the activities that has been assisting most household to meet up with their feeding requirements as the meager salieries paid to people in the county is never close to meeting our needs. This portion of the farm will be used for planting potatoes.

Remember the new specie of potatoes I just found. We would be planting them today.
It was almost very dark at twilight yesterday when we left the farm. Having completed the bulk of the work for the day we decided to check in the progress of the corn. The corn are already in their tasseling stage and from here they would begin producing seeds in their pods. In about 4weeks time these would be ready for consumption.
Farmers from other state who have used either irrigation farming or have planted their corns early have started bringing in fresh corn to sell to people in the state here.

I can say that corns are some of the easiest crops that anyone can plant. The moment you get some quality farming space and good seeds, it takes about 4months to grow corn and this can be done repeatedly within the year. During the dry seasons, irrigation farming helps a lot with growing corn and during the raining seasons the bulk of the work becomes more easier.
It is safe to say that virtually everyone eats one or more corn meals, either the harvested one like this, or the ones processed both locally and industrially into one form or the other.
