At about 3weeks old now, all our farm animals are very active and growing strong. It will surprise you to know that just a single cage here is housing the 5 new poults and their mother at the floor level of the cage while the upper part of the cage is housing the rabbits and it's kits.

I have laid emphasizes on how we can make a profitable business growing these farm animals and our profit is here already. So we purchased two poults of a day old; meaning that the poults was hatched on that day. It was really small compared to these ones that are almost a month old now. And with a single poults and just about 8 months we now have a mother Turkey and 5 growing poults.

Now a day old poults cost about $10 even though buying them at that stage comes with very low chances of survival. Poults often survive easily when they are together but farmers especially those that have already large farms with plentier animals prefer to sell their poults much more early to avoid the extra cost of feeding them. They have very large no of birds which are consistently laying eggs and hatching them, hence they sell their birds when they are barely a day old.

Farmers who are willing to take the risk then buy and cater for this birds from day one which was what we did for the mother of this poults.

Also it is important to note that all animals behave differently both in their growth and productivity just like humans. Out of the two poults we have bought, only one had grown so much, laid eggs and gave us some more birds.

The twin of this very one is the next bird you will see, she is still roaming about and yet to lay eggs or start a productive process, although we are still highly expectant of when she will get started.

Instead of selling our new poults, we have held unto them because we are looking forward to enlarging the number of our birds from being just the two we have purchased at birth to the number we now have. They are about 7 birds now, two mother and 5poults. We are so lucky to not have loss any of these birds yet. At a month old we can sell all of the poults for $10 each making it $50.
Starting with just two birds purchased at $20 we can now sell just 5 of the birds for $50.

And thats already a large percentage of profit excluding the cost of feeding and the labour put into growing these birds which is not really a labour because everyone find it's fun to play with the new animals while feeding them.

Another important thing to note about farm animals is that not all birds love to hatch eggs even if they do not have a choice concerning laying eggs. It will be so much losses to have your birds consistently lay eggs without hatching them. To solve this challenge, wealthy farm houses uses artificial Incubater to nurse eggs and hatch them at the appropriate time.

For local farmers who cannot afford an incubator, using local methods is advisable and a more decent way to minimize the loses. At this point, they can only be minimized, whenever you find a good turkey or even chicken that can lay and hatch eggs well including incubating then for the proper no of days, that bird becomes an important Incubater for you.

All we now is to feed the bird well, keep her in a cage and consistently supply her eggs from different birds for her to hatch them. This is exactly what our first mother turkey is doing here. Looking at the various colors of eggs above you will see that they were picked from different birds that cannot hatch them, everything put together this one turkey will incubate and hatch all the eggs, most times she only hatches a little percentage of the eggs while the rests gets discarded but it's much fairer than the ones who will not hatch 🐣 any babies at all. This is one way to identify and make productive use of this natural incubation method to hatch more birds rather than losing out completely. Although her poults are almost a month old, she has since be incubating other eggs from other birds.
