Hello Hive.

Exciting times are coming back again because the rains are here.
We had a first major rain in the month of February and just last week another repeated episode of downpour was experienced.

You know what tiding the rains brings to us farmers.
It is the signal for a new farming season having closed the domes of heaven since the months of October.

Well technology has made farming to become all year round in some parts of the world but around here the only crops we plant in the dry seasons are vegetables by the river banks.

We haven't create enough water bodies to hold much water for irrigation farming and the rivers get dried quickly.
There is a limit to what we can plant here when the rains are over.

Clearing of debris begins after two solid rains here, farming doesn't often commence until mid March for some while other wait until April to start cultivation of ridges.

Having the soil wet to cool off the temperature from constant daily heat brought some peace and relief to us in the community.

The only crop that has survived the dry season are the cassava's Been bie-annual crops cash crops we plant and harvest them over a period of two to three years.

Most often harvested cassava are sold or we process them into garri and fufu for sale.
Hopefully we would get to harvest the cassava in two months time if we want to use the space for planting beans since we often practise shifting cultivation.

You will see what I will make of the harvested cassava and how much profit one can make from investing in cassava business.
