Hello Farmers

It is with great delight that the domes of heaven were opened up after almost a month of ceased rain. Usually this break in rainfall causes alot of harm both to rice field or our other farm products.
And since we couldn't predict when it was likely for the rain cessation and break to occur, some rice field were sprayed with chemicals prior to the time the waters ceased and that caused a setback and damaging effect on the rice.

Water is very needful whenever chemicals are applied to any crop.
Once the chemicals are applied,it takes about 4hrs for both the plants and the weeds we are trying to eliminate to absorb the chemicals. After that timing we expect rains to water the plants such that the waters will dilute the effect of the chemicals in the rice while the grasses struggle to die off from the field.

And at other times these grasses do not die off completely, a reasonable amount of it dies off and we have to do a hand weeding to pick up remnant weeds unless we want to have them form houses for rodents who will use that as a hideout to destroy grains when it is about harvest time.

If things didn't happen in that order all you will see is a setback for the rice, yellowing of leaves, stunted growth and eventual death if the rains didn't resume back in record time.
Upon resumption of the rains now, the rice is in a recovery mode.
Next we will be adding fertilizers for it to regain the dark-green color, Hulle production continues and the progressive growth.

These changes will be more evident within two to three weeks with fertilizer application, Hence the dry periods are over and we are witnessing progress with rice growth now.

Thanks for stopping by.
