Some traditions wont allow ladies wear pant Care to know why Ladies must not wear pants or trousers?

On several occasions we went to the farm I had often contacted sores and rashes from insect bite.
This was was fair on the men (my brothers) since they has trousers that covered them to ankle length.
During those years, wearing of trouser was still a taboo in our family.
My dad must not see you wearing one. He had often quoted a verse in the bible that say that ladies must not wear men's cloth and men must not do likewise. Trousers are considered as men's cloth.
The orthodox doctrine was treated with so much gravity that any lady who wears a pant is considered a sinner, she is not allowed to enter the church or go near the brethren, and this was the norm in the century before now.
Trousers or pants were considered to be men's clothes and the ladies are confined strictly to wrappers and skirts.
But the times times have changed now We watched the lifestyle of the whites and in countries other than African the women wore pants to church.
At first we learnt that the this was allowed because the their weather is a very cold one and been on skirt will not help with the cold.
But gradually trouser wearing became acceptable. It started in our universities where the young ladies wore trousers to school.
I bought my very first trouser when I was in first year in the university.
By then my dad had become a little lenient with culture, orthodox and traditional belif.
Trouser wearing became a thing in our society even our mothers wear them too, every single lady wears trouser but there is still one church holding on to their doctrine of not wearing trouser.... I won't mention the name here 😁😁, my Nigerian people know which church it is.
Funny enough I looked into my wardrobe and ever since I started wearing trousers they completely replaced skirt I don't even have a single skirt to wear to church
Most times I am still skeptical about wearing trousers to church because of doctrinal stigmatization, I wear dresses instead.
Truth be told, some trousers might not be decent enough for a holy gathering, talking about wearing a very tight pant and skimpy top that doesn't cover your butt, its a house of prayer not showcasing your body or seducing anyone, but we are all entitled to our opinion. Do what's best for you 😁
Lastly I love wearing trousers over skirt because of some ease and comfort of climbing bikes, stair cases and lots of other activities one can do in pants that skirt will limit me.
And of course insect bites is minimal if your are on trousers and jungle boots...
And wearing trousers do not make me feel like a man 🤓😀.

Today I sewed a skirt, turns out that I need one for church, I want to rock some skirt with blazers. The fabric is a lovely black and white patterned but wasn't enough to make an elegant skirt but this is how it turns out. Maybe when dressed in blazers it will come out better.
Cut out pattern; Sewed the seams,
Joined a gathered hem, And an elastic to the waist

In my house for years thought the same thing that women should not wear men's clothes, but one day I went to a park and I could not enjoy because I had skirt, I came home and I started to read the verse where it speaks and I asked my mom she also went to the same verse in the bible, but it turns out that at the time that chapter was written men wore tunic did not exist the pants, for me are standards of men who adapt it according to their convenience, I think so, the skirt was very nice for you.

I could remember those days when my dad gave my sister the beaten of her life just because he saw her putting on trousers unknown to my sister that he was at home when she got back, that actually scared me from putting it on myself not until I left the house to school.
Time has really changed now, my dad is old and he believes we are old enough to make our choices.

In Venezuela there are no limitations on the use of pants for women, but only of a religious nature. In some congregations they require it for prayer days only, that is, when they go to church and meetings. For the rest, everyone in my country wears pants without distinction of sex. It is very comfortable. What I do see still limited is the use of shorts 🩳 in girls and ladies. Some parents prohibit their use and also miniskirts.
That's great, shorts are usually too revealing especially the ones worn this day.
We should care about having a decent society and am glad that some parents are teaching their children the right thing
That's right, my friend. At my age I'm still careful about wearing them, I usually wear them for beach days or as pajamas.
Hello Monica. It's good to hear that as times have changed, so have beliefs. It's good that you can wear pants without problems and that women can now wear the clothes they want and when they want. Where I live I see my neighbors who go to church with dresses or long skirts, but the rest of the days they are in their daily pants. It's good that they have the freedom to choose.

Greetings. My dad was never against wearing of trouser for as long as you don't expose your body. I got used to wearing of trouser in Uni cos it makes me feel comfortable. The skirt is beautiful, I can't wait for you to rock it with different colours of blouse

I know the church lol 😆, but everyone still has to do what is comfortable for them, just like you, I wear dresses to church instead if skirt, I hardly have any, trousers are my go to, any day and anytime.

For a long, long time I wore trousers under skirts and dresses. I was thinking when I was reading about you going to the farm, "why doesn't she wear a pair of trousers under a long skirt?" 😁 There is also the shalwar kameez which addresses modesty with practicality. It's a fine line to balance between convention and new ideas, always difficult for women.
🤓.. That is true. Any long skirt could have covered my trousers.
Women are always at the receiving end of to many norm.
But am glad that the bridge is been crossed gradually and we are beginning to have a voice.
