The Ladies Are Tired of Wearing Brassiere

I am totally unsure if I should generalize this or speak for myself alone, but to be candid wearing Brassiere (bra) is beginning to hurt my chest and shoulders.

This is a bit awkward but a couple of times when I go out wearing bra but came back home with it in my purse, I will search for a very secluded place and pull of the hooks from behind removing the bra.
A couple of my friends no longer wear bra as an undergarments too giving the same complain of how it hurts their chest.

I may not know the origin of when women started wearing bra or who created and introduced women to the wearing of bra but one thing i know is that the types of bra we have have gone through several modifications down to the ones that is now hurting our health.

At puberty every girl child is introduced and taught how to wear bra. It was then I was introduced to it as well but no body has ever taught us if there is a side effects to this or not.

Some Brassiere are soft textured with single layer foam, but most ladies have preferred wearing a double foam bra that adds extra fullness to their bust. Due to body shaming over a long time so many ladies want to wear a extra padded bra to enhance their shapes.
These bra will not give you the desired fullness most of the times unless there is an iron hook underneath.

I want to believe that several ladies have seen this bra underwire before. This is one of the things in a bra that hurts our chest.
As an adolescent this would sometimes find its way out of the bra to pierce my bare skin in between by breast but since they said wearing bra is compulsory I suffered wearing this.

Ever since i became an adult and can decide for myself I decide the kind of bra I wear and how comfortable they should be, most times I chose a Bralet over a Brassiere.

What then can a lady wear if Brasserie Hurt.

Recently within Nigeria it became a common thing for ladies to move around in public pointing nipples at you 😆😄
That is really unethical.
The nipples will point out when you do not put your bust in a bra or at least something to wear as an undergarments.

You can chose to out on a comfortable sport bra, it comes without an under wire and will keep your nipple's in or device some comfortable.

As a seamstress I have often admired @lauramica sew as many lingerie for herself and her friends.
I thought I could sew something my own way and most likely a padded camisole that can serve as a bra.

IMG_1218.jpeg

Now this can be employed in sewing any of your outfits, seeks for soft materials like the bra foam, warden or even normal foam to pad the inside of your clothes and you are good to go.

IMG_1238.jpeg

After making a simple bodice with a fitted underbust contour.

IMG_1195.jpeg

Draft out a bust span using a standard chart measurements and this will be used to cut a form in such shape to be added into your outfits.

IMG_1206.jpeg

You can gun or sew this to the lining of your cloth.
And with the smallest material you can sew different color of this undergarments to be worn in place of a bra.

IMG_1200.jpeg

Besides you can also add several layer of the foam if you have a smaller breast and will like to enhance this.

IMG_1211.jpeg

IMG_1212.jpeg

I could learn to sew more comfortable lingeries instead of those expensive ones in the market that really hurt our chest.

IMG_1268.jpeg

So ladies you had challenges with wearing bra in the past?

Wow! I'm impressed @monica-ene this is o beautiful,

I am totally unsure if I should generalize this or speak for myself alone

You are not alone sis, I feel same, I'm not even the overly busty type, I only put on bra when I go far, I'm considering using just tapes for outfits without pads like this.

I thought about tapes too but don't know how I will feel in that, maybe when I eventually get one.

Lol. I thought I was the only one on this table. I had to tell me tailor that whenever she sews my clothes she should add padded bra to it and make it comfortable.
I don't wear bra on clothes I sew, I can't come and kill myself. Your camisole is beautiful ❤️

Thank goodness I am not the only one. At least it makes the two of us now.
I pad all my outfits now.
And am just experimenting how we can sew and wear something comfortable.
Thanks for stopping by dear.

YES!!!

Brava, @monica-ene !! Bras are an absolute horror for the breasts, and ruin the lymphatic system as well as cutting off circulation and eventually causing the breasts to droooooopppp! It is all a complete scam, as many clothing ideas are, and there are much better ways to care for and clothe our bodies, especially our sacred areas, without limiting or damaging them. The best way is trying out different fabrics and structures ourselves, and enjoying our bodies when we are caring for them and making them beautiful to OUR standards and values!

(Edited)

The wire in bra of those days is so annoying and discomforting.
I used to endure and wear it too.
Until I found out cool bra that doesn't have that wire, but it doesn't really hold the breast frame.

But recently I wear comfortable bra or bra top that doesn't leave the nipples pointing 😂

You have a brilliant idea with making yours.

I don't know what's wrong with my ecency app, it's not showing these images.

Sewing this gave me several better ideas, bra without the underwire don't hold much.

I think sewing something with a corset frame will be better than this one with a bustier contour.
I will try that too.
Am really sorry you have to endure that discomfort in the past too.

I think the app might be undergoing some upgrade or probably just network

That will be awesome.
Some are sewing clothes that doesn't require to wear bra.

But come to think of it, who was making those bra with wires.
If they are women like us that wear that discomforting thing, why continue making it?

I hope it comes back because viewing images is what makes a post so cool.

Those are padded outfits.
I pad all my outfits these days.

Maybe you can try using peakd before Ecency gets sorted.

As for the bras with underwire, I can't really say how we came about them.

That's nice.

I will switch later.

Well, thank God we are done with having wire bras as our only option.

I find it very difficult now to find a bra that fits and is comfortable. Sports bras are better as they are a more substantial garment with sturdy straps - more like a bralet in shape and construction. I find that they are often stylish enough to be seen as part of your outfit and don't have the lingerie look.

I have a favourite so-called t-shirt bra but that model is no longer made.

Your top looks lovely!

Very good job, and especially the subject of the bra, with wires are very uncomfortable, but make your own garment is excellent, because you can do it in the best possible way without hurting you, and feel much more comfortable with their daily use, have a good day.

The first thing I said when I saw your title was Yes I am tired! wearing bras can be very uncomfortable that is why i always resort to bra tops or nipple covers.

I must say that I love your padded camisole. It looks amazing! From the colour right to the aesthetic. given the opportunity to chose between this and a bra, I would pick over and over again😅. I love it.

Oh dear. Bra must have troubled you too I guess 😂😁😀😊
I might just make a corset shaped one, am sure it will have a better fitting.. Bur yes this is comfortable and padding it more can give me more fullness if I desire.

Thanks for stopping by dear.

Thank God for small boobs oh,🤣🤣, I don't even have to worry about wearing a bra all the time, but I do prefer to wear bra tops as they are comfy.

I love yours, it's really beautiful and I love the floral pattern.

Hello Monica. This top turned out beautiful on you and with the padding forget about wearing a bra. I haven't worn a bra with a metal underwire in like five years... and it's a place I don't want to go back to hahaha. They always looked ugly on me because no size was comfortable for me (or too small or too big). The solution was to sew my own lingerie and that's it.

I liked this outfit and the fabric you used, I'm glad you used this pattern and if you repeat the process in shorter and lace fabrics you can already have beautiful pieces of underwear. Greetings ❤️

Great piece!! ❤️
...which I would choose any time over a bra! I guess there are a lot of options, so we don't have to live with the pain (which I think we shouldn't!) As you said, there are many different ways to sew bralettes as well, keeping away all the metal pieces, and there are some beautiful patterns out there😊 ...including @lauramica s creations, which are a great inspiration, I agree with you🙃

I'm flabbergasted by the craftsmanship that you displayed. Teenagers nowadays must learn how to sew or create their dresses or garments instead of buying them in a shopping mall. You are very talented, dear!

Yes, it's true that almost all brassieres that have underwires hurt our breasts and it causes lumps too. I don't wear underwired bras, too as advised by my doctor.

Buying will actually save us alot of money.
I can see that as many ladies too no longer wear bras with underwire.
Thanks for stopping by dear.

this is a very hot topic, my dear! Not all bra models are comfortable, and you are absolutely right about that. I will add to this also an allergy to certain details and seams. I am a big opponent of synthetic bras precisely because of their negative impact on the health of the female breast. Finding underwear made from natural fabrics is not always easy. yes, it remains only to sew
