Threshing and Winnowing: Rice Harvest
Hello Hive
This is the day we have all been waiting for. The moments we will picking up our rice grains to take them home for food.
It has been a very long journey of planting and nurturing out rice crop and just like with the expectation and hope of any farmer, harvest has begun for us.

We have people that are in the segment of cutting the rice plants. Which typically we have got some labourers and my dad to fill up that gap. While they have cut a substantial part of the farm already

We have another set of labourers engage in the beating of the rice plants. You can beat your rice plants against any empty drum or a hard surface to remove the rice grains from the chaff.
Yet another category of people are here that are meant to be engaged in winnowing the grains. Winnowing is the cleaning process for the harvested grains after which we then package the grains and look for a means to transport them home.
Since there is a whole lot of the rice grains to be beating we are all engaged in gathering the rice into heaps while our friends and labourers are beating the rice grains. Beating the grains is the most hardest task here hence we are hoping that the work will progress faster despite the hot and unbearable weather
Myself, my dad and younger siblings are engaged in are helping the women to gather the rice while they are beating the he look

It is such a relief now that we even have cars that can now assist us with transporting the grains home.
Before now when here was no distinct road go the farm we often transport the harvested grains home loading them in sacs and carrying them on our head, gradually we are being relieved of so much stress with the technologies that brings different machines to assist us with different task.

With the kind of work we are doing here I really wish that there is a machine that can harvest and process these grains. The manual labor isn't palatable at all but this is the only way to get this work done around
For now we will just do what we can do best and see how far we can go with the days work. It's about 2pm and the sun is really beating down heavily on everyone here.
Wow! I got some back pain looking at the images and reading your blog. !LOLZ
I do wish you the best in your progress and that one day you are able to get the mechanical advantage you deserve.
