What a Joy to Behold our First Sets or Emerging Rice Grains. Our labour here is about yielding results.
Hello Hive

It was such a joy to behold the freshly and upcoming rice grains in our farms yesterday. Can you see this? The journey of uncertainty that started in the month of June has now resulted into something that is about to bless all the labour we have put in here. Spotting these rice grains that have just being newly produced feels gives me so much joy because as soon as rice grains begin producing it's grain pods like this, it wouldn't take so much time from now before all the fields becomes covered in grains.

The pods are often the first to be produced like this. They will bear the grains within And right having spotted the pods, I picked up some grains to open them up and see what's inside.

We have a very soft gel of rice grains while some pods are still empty. It is that soft gels that will now get matured and harden up to become our rice grains 🌾 that will be harvested eventually. The rice has left it's pregnancy stage which often happens in December and can be said to have start bearing it's food.

Even though we embarked on the journey of weeding this farm last week, we only spend a day here before running off to go harvest our groundnuts as those ones are on the verge of begging spoilt in the farm already. We left off the weeding after spending a day in the farm and you can still see the grasses in-between the farm.

We would be returning here in the coming week to continue the weeding. Though I'm not sure if this would be convinient to keep weeding this farm even though it has start producing it's food.

This journey started with so much uncertainty for me because it's our family farm and I have always have daddy's support regarding growing the foods we eat. He was strong and healthier in the previous years and have always assisted us with the work here, but due to the nature of his health he couldn't join us for any work in the farm this year.

The family still needs to feed even if daddy could no longer be of assistance regarding this work. I embraced this wholeheartedly and engaged in several parts of the difficult task that would befit a man doing. I would back herbicide tanks of how many liters to spray herbicide to the farm, I engaged in weeding and several difficult task.
We started gradually in the month of June then come July when the work began to intensity.

The first sets of rice grains were planted in their nursery in that month of June. The subsequent month was followed by transplanting and in just about 3+ month from then, the grains are coming up and a sure sigh of up that my work here is not in vain.
A very happy Sunday morning to us all. I hope that we had a refreshing night rest?
