Nature is not a place to visit. It's home. (Gary Snyder)

Hello my dear community, this is my first post in the Amazing Nature community.

I am one of those who faithfully believe that nature is perfect, I love to appreciate the wonders that nature gives us no matter how small it is.
On my visit to the zoo in Merida I was able to take some pictures that I share with you.

La Hortensia o Ramillete de Novia/The Hydrangea or Bridal Bouquet

The Hydrangea or Bridal Bouquet, its common name is due to the fact that its bouquets are used very frequently in the decoration of weddings and big events, this due to its beauty and simplicity that give it a certain sublime personality. The Hydrangea can reach a little more than one meter in height and can bloom up to twenty bouquets at a time.

It can be found in colors such as pure white, through pink to the most striking sky blue. Something curious is that its flowers are not really flowers, but a type of modified leaf, it is due to this particularity its ability to maintain the "flowering" throughout the year.
In Merida we can see this beautiful flower all over the city from the lowest areas to the beautiful Andean paramo

Euryops chrysanthemoides Yellow daisy / Euryops chrysanthemoides Margarita amarilla

It is a shrub native to southern Africa reaches a maximum height of two meters being normal to stay between 0.5 and one meter. It is a plant that resists to the drought and the drought, in particular I love it because its leaves always remain green and that beautiful yellow color of its flower makes you happy the day.

Hemerocallis middendorfii is one of the species commonly called daylilies. This plant is native to Russia, Japan and Korea.

Hohenbergia stellata

Hohenbergia stellata is a species of phanerogamous plant belonging to the bromeliad family. It is native to Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Netherlands Antilles, Venezuela. I love bromeliads, you can find them on the banks of a river or at the top of the trees, at least in Merida it is very common to see them in the treetops.

The Merida Zoo has a magical atmosphere with large trees and a variety of wildlife, we can see several waterfalls to which I did not have access the road was under maintenance, is a very quiet place to spend a nice Sunday with family. its downside is that it is a zoo I am one of those who think that animals should be free in their natural habitat and not locked up as they are not pets, but that and will be another topic.

(Edward Abbey)

I leave you with this quote.

"Nature is not a luxury, but a necessity of the human spirit, as vital as water or good bread" (Edward Abbey)
