Black and white photos are wonderful.

Black and white create the best balance and harmony, of course an artist must have sufficient knowledge of all the values of colors to be able to see subjects in black and white. Not all black and white are necessarily balanced, an artist must know how much value of black to put in his work and how much value of white to put in his work so that the image ultimately achieves harmony.

Shouldn't a true artist know that art doesn't exactly rely on harmony?

Sometimes a photo with a lot of black and juuuust little of white is VERY good

and in terms of harmony it isnt

I agree with you, but in all dissonances there is a kind of harmony and an artist must be aware of it. For example, a uniform rhythm and an alternating rhythm... In an alternating rhythm there is a kind of dissonance but that same dissonance gives meaning to that rhythm and that is what an artist must be aware of.

Bzzz, huge congrats to @jlphotographyart, @sandormb and @muhammadhalim, and to all the honorable mentions! 🐝 Black and white suits a hive theme well — fun fact: red actually looks black to bee eyes, while we see ultraviolet humans can’t. So in a way, this little bee is halfway to monochrome vision already! 🖤✨
