Are these photographs bad images?

Well, in a way I think these pictures are bad not all of them but some of them are, in the previous post I mentioned that I was taking some pictures with a CPL filter that I have in my pocket, the quality of the filter is not bad but it is not the best either, and that shows in some pictures, some results I liked and others not and to be honest I want to show these pictures as a proof, also I took the pictures as a test because I hope to come back with more gear to take the pictures that I have in my mind.

But let's start with one of the pictures that I did like, I had previously taken pictures in this place in the park, and I came back to see how it looks at this moment, I have always wanted to go to take pictures in this place but at sunrise, the problem is that the sun rises on the left side and in the morning there are too many mosquitoes to be taking a long exposure picture, I will see what to do in the coming days, for the moment I liked the light and although the picture was taken at F2. 8 I think it turned out better than I expected, of course with more light the quality would have been greatly improved.

That day I did two visits to the park, one was at noon and the other at sunset, so here I will show you two pictures that were taken at noon, as I say despite being a cheap CPL filter does its job well removing many of the reflections on the water, even so there is something that I do not quite like in them.

Now let's go back to the afternoon pictures, when I arrived at the park there was still light but even with the light I had to let the ISO go up a lot, and besides you know that I don't like to carry a tripod, something that I have to correct in my habits to improve my pictures, but this time I knew that the tripod was unnecessary, this park is too windy and when taking pictures where the tree branches move a lot it was better to let the ISO go up, I found these ducks resting and I am going back to take another picture but with the zoom lens so I can get closer without scaring them, all these pictures were taken with the 50mm.

I liked the next place, the park has been remodeled, they removed the old wooden benches and changed them for metal ones, something that I appreciate and at the same time I hate because the previous benches included a table that was useful to eat, besides they looked more aesthetic, well that's what I think, however I liked this bench and I need to come back a little earlier than when I took this picture, I also think that the picture would look better with the 24mm lens to include more in the landscape, but as a test image I think it works well.

test-4.jpg

I kept walking through the park and found the following flowers, I liked the effect of the CPL filter more than expected in this picture.

test-5.jpg

Showing the pictures as I was taking them would put the main image in this place, but as I already showed it let's continue with the next one, this duck had its back to me for at least 5 minutes, and as I was against time and the light was running out I decided to continue the tour, bad luck for me, also in this picture I feel that the CPL filter did a good job.

test-7.jpg

Now we arrive to another place that I like a lot, here I shot at 1/200, ISO 800 and an aperture of F5.6, I like the place and I would really appreciate at least one more meter of land on my right side to improve the composition, to take the picture I had to stand on the shore and I almost fell into the lake, I have no more space to move to the right side and it's a shame, but maybe with another lens I can do something better, we will see in the next pictures I take in this place.

test-8.jpg

The light was almost completely gone and I was without a tripod, so I had to shoot at F1.8, ISO 800, the truth is that I liked seeing people fishing and hopefully the next time I go I will find more fishermen.

test-9.jpg

In the next picture which is the last of the post, I thought that the tree of different color would stand out in the image, and it does, but because of the distance, the aperture and high ISO makes the image not to my liking, also here the CPL filter caused an unforeseen blur in the final result, and I really think it was the fault of the CPL because in my experience with the camera and my 50mm lens, the image should have come out much sharper than it came out, anyway as I say, there are times when I go out to do photography simply to find places where I will return better prepared to take the pictures, although I do not know what I will find I know the place where I want to look, and I think it is a good exercise to go out and deal with the different problems that we can find in our photographs, that way I can improve and gain experience for future similar situations, thanks for watching the post see you in the next one.

Why would you say bad.
No they are not. I like them 😊
The filter did do a good job. Sometimes you want the reflections removed, sometimes not. It so depends…

Thank you very much, and you are absolutely right, sometimes reflections can be used as something artistic.
