Shooting Galaxies & Neighbours bloody security light

Last night it was too hot & muggy to sleep so i got the telescope out in the back garden to do a little bit of Electronic Astronomy with some live stacking in Sharpcap.

It is the first time i have tested my new rig and i have it set up in the back garden but the issue i have is the neighbour has a security light that is over sensitive and on most of the night and it drowns everything out, anyway it was still nice to sit out and look at the stars with the plough looking rather splendid last night.

The telescope has a camera on the back which is linked via usb to the laptop and i use a program called sharpcap to take multiple images which are stacked on each other to create a better image, the image at the top is the Whirlpool Galaxy which is 23 million miles away from planet earth and what i love about this image is that you can see two galaxies in the midst of a collision.

My next target was M13 a globular cluster of stars aka the Great Hercules Cluster, this group of stars is a little closer to home at around 25 thousand light years. It does remind me of fireflies around a bulb.

On reflection i had a fun time taking these images but if you have a security light show some love and make sure it is set to a better sensitivity and i hope you have enjoyed looking at these two deep space objects.

Ofc i enjoyed it. I can't imagine what it would be like to see that live. Also, 23mile away that's hilariously far

Interesting! Looking at the universe is always pleasant. BTW, next time consider adding more details about the telescope and a few sources to backup the claims about the galaxies, stars and such. It could help you :)

Beautiful heavens, If there is other intelligent life out there they would be just as awed at the heavens above their world seeing the magnificent tapestry of colors and light balanced in a delicate fabric of space and time.
And amazed how the stupid humans haven't nuked their planet into black billiard ball by now.👽

Na Noo, na noo.📡
