Balancing Work and Mental Well-being

In today's world, many companies see employees as slaves; they see them as people they can use at any time and even wear them out. This happens because they know they can't go anywhere. Because of too much work and no rest, most employees become frustrated. Imagine dealing with depression, anxiety, stress and the likes. Most companies don't want to know what you are facing, as they see you are physically okay.

Meanwhile, it's not about the physical aspect sometimes; it's about the psychological aspect, the mental aspect, because I believe if someone is not mentally okay, he or she will not be able to work to the satisfaction of the company.

Most employees spend hours working; some even work overtime just to meet the goal and the deadline for the company. They work effortlessly just to satisfy the company, and since the company already provides sick leaves, they think that can be enough. But then you can be physically fit and okay, and you will have a lot going through your mind. And if your mind is not settled, regardless of how fit you are, there's no way you can achieve anything. Your mind, your brain, must be settled to be able to carry out any task.

That is why it is beneficial to give an employee mental health leave. Have you ever seen a scenario whereby you are carrying out a particular task and you just get stuck in the middle of the task, especially when the task deals with problem-solving, and you have to sleep first so you will be settled before going back to the work? I will use myself as an example; there was a day that I was writing exams, so I overread on the day of the exams. It was a two-hour exam, but I couldn't remember anything until I slept for thirty minutes before I could recall everything I've read. This is to say that our mental health is very important.

Furthermore, I remembered, during our sports activities, there was this day that I was extremely stressed in the middle of the game while I was supervising. I wasn't booting at all; I'm just looking so dull, and I remembered I still have a lot to do. So I excused myself and slept for two hours. When I woke up, I was so energetic and was able to continue working.

There are so many benefits to having mental health leave; it will reduce stress and you will be stress-free. You will have time to deal with depression; imagine being depressed and still going to work. Your mental health leave will make you energised and so on.

In conclusion, both sick leave and mental health leave are very important; our brain also has what it can take, and when things are too much for it, then your body will tell. Inasmuch as the employees are not taking the leave for granted, or should I say there should be a good process for it? But the fact still remains the same: mental health leave is extremely important.

Yeah the mind needs to be a good shape for us to achieve any set goals by the company we work for. I believe that having a day or two off from work for our mental health will be a very good id

Working in a company does have a strict and disciplined system, I don't know much about how the company's work system works, but if they really treat their employees like slaves, this is really not good, they also need rest and holidays to relieve the pressure of workload.

great talk. it is actually more important to balance these two things than people let on. often bridges burn between family because of work stress.
