Privacy And School Responsibility.

No doubt that Social Media has become the significant factor in everyone's life. It is now part of our daily activities and it's very important. People has seen social media as part of them and we know anything that is part of us can not be left out.

Platform such as, Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube, Whatsapp, Twitter and so on, has given everyone the ability to express their feelings online, they can now make friends talk about their opinions online and even get an advice both positive and negative. Meanwhile people stay on social media because it also pays money if you know how to use it well or if you get a deal.

Now the real question is should the school be allowed to monitor the social media post of it's staff and students? I believe that each and everyone have rights to their privacy, and the moment someone is intruding the privacy that means it's no longer a privacy so the asked about school monitoring their staff and students is a no for me.

every single person have the right to post whatever they feel like posting on their social media, the moment school has the right the your social media handled that simply means they have know everything about you even the secrets you have discussed with some other people.

Respecting people's privacy is very important, but let's assume they are misusing the Internet, how do I mean? If the students are posting something irrelevance on the social media or something that will even go against the school and can bring damage to the school. The school will then educate them on the important of social media and why they should not use it for something bad, they should also be thought about the consequences of social bullying and where it can leads them to. I believe this will go along way to make them learn, meanwhile teaching them is so important because they might not even be aware how bad social media can go if the use it for something wrong and we have hear stories about how people lost their life on social bullying.

On the other hand, the teacher can even use the social media to promote the school publicity and gives them more students and also make the school well known to the world, I've seen a staff that uses the social media to make the school known and with the way he teaches the students, everyone wants to bring their children to that school. No doubt that the power of social media can not be overemphasised this can only happen with the directive or the school concern, however if the teacher is using it on a negative way, he can be summoned and be thought on how to use it well, and if he doesn't change he can be sui for invading the school privacy.

In summary, the school can only comes in when the social media is being used against the school, but the moment is not being used against the school and the students and staff are just using it for their own sake and growth, then the school doesn't have any right to invade their privacy because each and everyone has right to their privacy.

I love this balance so much.
The school and authorities can come in only when it's being used against the reputation of their school and they sense danger of some sort, if not they should leave it be.
The media platform of a student or staff of a school is still their privacy, you only have access to what they post and what they allow you to see, not for you to become their social media manager or stalker.

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah if they post something against school then they've right to check on while in the case of simple personal life stuff they don't need to check on.

You are right, I realize that nowadays people are more attached to the digital world than to their real life, my wife prefers to upload her sadness on social media rather than solving problems together, actually I really don't like that.

I stand with you on respecting people's privacy whether staff or just students, everyone is entitled to some level of privacy.
