The dog and the chase (a day I will never forget)

On this very good Saturday morning, which I will never forget, mom said, Ayobami, we have a lot of house chores to do today. I told her okay, Mama, knowing full well that I would run away and wouldn't assist her in the house chores. Mom said we should start as early as we could, but I teased her by saying I could not wash any clothes or do any house chores without eating good food. In my own mind, I just want to eat and run away. I want to go and meet my friends so we can play, and then I will come back late in the day so that my mom will have been done with all the house chores.

Knowing fully well that my siblings are not around, Mom prepared food: rice and beans, together with fish and eggs. I ate the food and finished it. After that, I told Mom that I wanted to take five minutes of rest, then I would join her in the house chores. She said okay; she's already done everything outside and will start working soon.
I enter the room slowly and pack all my stuff slowly. I take my phone, my charger, and some other things that I will use at my friend's place. I passed through the window, and I successfully escaped from home. Wow, mission accomplished! I was so happy.

Fortunately for me, I got to my friend's house, and I'm always busy pressing my phone, even while working on the road. I'm so addicted to that.
I approached my friend's house, but there's one thing about my friends: they have dogs, and they're local dogs. Nigerian local dogs are always weird, especially when they just gave birth. I didn't know that my friend's dog just gave birth a day before, and I was just busy pressing my phone, unknowingly. I approached the dog, and I wanted to mistakenly press the puppy. Guess what happened next? The mother shouted at me and pursued me. I was running and shouting my friend's name (bolaji, help me, help me). At some point, I could feel the dog near my buttocks and about to bite my buttocks. I keep running while shouting for help. This dog brought out the running spirit in me, and the funniest part was that the dog chased me back to our house, where I ran away. When I'm almost home, the dog goes back, and my mom sees me and starts laughing so loud because I lost everything I took out, even my sandals, which do not follow me to the house. Mom said next time you will always listen to me.

The rate at which I was panting when I got home is funny. By the way, I never believed I could run as fast as I did. I knew that on normal ground, I could never run like that. Well, to cut a long story short, my mom punished me by washing all the clothes and doing all the house chores. Which makes me lose in two ways. I nearly cried that day.
