When Does Teenagers Stop Being an Excuse?

This question is, if children, teenagers and co-children committed a crime, should they be treated as the adults, even if the crime is extremely big? Should they still be treated as a minor, or should they face the consequences that an adult person will face during the judgement? However, there are so many views about what people say on this.

Firstly, let's not forget that a minor is still a minor regardless of where we want to put it, and when children are growing up, we are supposed to know that their brains are still developing. Most of the time they don't even know what they are doing. And in the process of their brain developing. They do anything; they imitate, just like a child growing up when they were kids. There's a stage of imitation whereby they do exactly what they see you do or see you say. This is not their fault; it's what they are presently.

This is why it is so important when a child is growing, we should do something positive because everything we do they will do, and at that process they think it's something good they are doing. The same thing happens to the teenagers and so on. If you see any child or teenager do anything bad. Trace it back; there is someone he or she is learning from. They just don't decide because they don't have the brain to decide on their own yet. So whatever you do, they think it's the right decision.

This is one of the reasons, if you know you want your children to do well in the society, you have to monitor them very well. One of the things that makes them turn into bad people in the society is peer groups; these children will see their mates smoking, and they want to smoke too; they are drinking alcohol, and they want to drink too just because they see someone doing it. They see you doing cyber crimes; they want to join too because they think it's fun.

This is how everything starts, and if they continue from teenagers like that, by the time they are 18 or so and so on, it will be difficult for them to go back. Because it is already part of them. That is why if you see someone very trained at home, it's difficult for them to mingle with these so-called people.

This will now bring us back to the question asked earlier: no point in saying that some offence can be too much. Imagine a teenager killing, robbing and doing something permanent in someone's life, and it can't be done. In this case there should be a better judgement for them. I mean, we can't be going easy on them all the time.

However, if they committed crimes that don't cause too much damage, there should be rehab, discipline and so on. To tell them what they are doing in the society can go a long way to harm the society. I believe there are ways in which we can handle teenagers so they can learn the act of discipline and also know that taking someone's life is illegal.

Lastly, the parents have a lot of work to do; they should be the ones to not go easy on their children. Gentle parenting will not do any good but harm to the society. The parents we have now – most of them are not supposed to be parents because they do nothing but spoil the children's lives with their gentle parenting.

I agree with you. Being young explains some behavior but it shouldn’t excuse serious crimes. There should be consequences while still giving them a chance to learn and change.

Parenting is something I always say don't start if you are not ready, it's not a day job, it is a forever thing.

No parents should give birth and just leave his kids to be doubt anything. If we want kids, we need to be responsible for them.
