Discovering Points of Interest in Balmont in The Hunter Call of The Wild [EN/ES]

Today I have put on my boots and camouflaged suit to go to Balmont in Lake District and continue unlocking points of interest through exploration, of course my faithful companion Rasputin will be accompanying me and along the way we will be on the lookout for some prey, what will we hunt today, we will see.

We will walk 1.31KM to the next point of interest, there are three in total in the area where we are going, one is an elevated observation post, another one I think is a historical site and the last one looks like a hunting post.

Hoy me he puesto mis botas y traje camuflado para ir a Balmont en Lake District y continuar desbloqueando puntos de interés a través de la exploración, claro que mi fiel compañero Rasputín me estará acompañando y en el camino estaremos atentos a alguna presa, ¿Qué cazaremos hoy? ya veremos.

Caminaremos 1.31KM hasta el siguiente puesto de interés, hay tres en total en la zona donde vamos, uno es un puesto de observación elevado, otro creo que es un lugar histórico y el último tiene pinta de ser un puesto de caza.

As soon as I started my journey I could hear a bear in the distance, I approached slowly and indeed, I could observe it but there were many branches that obstructed the view, I could see that it was eating, I tried to get a little closer so as not to miss the shot, but it detected me and ran away quickly. I went after him to see if he would calm down but I lost sight of him.

Apenas inicié mi recorrido pude escuchar un oso a la distancia, me acerqué lentamente y efectivamente, pude observarlo pero había muchas ramas que obstaculizaban la vista, pude ver que estaba comiendo, traté de acercarme un poco más para no fallar el tiro, pero me detectó y se fue huyendo rápidamente. Fui tras él a ver si se tranquilizaba pero lo perdí de vista.

The noise I was making alerted a coyote that was nearby, so I ordered Rasputin to lie down in a nearby place so he would not make noise and I was walking slowly to a small bush to hide and use my decoy. I had to activate my decoy about three times and wait about 5 minutes until I could finally see the coyote approaching very wary.

When I saw that I had a clear shot I did not hesitate to shoot but I made a mistake, I used my rifle with bird bullets instead of a large animal ammunition, I am not carrying ammunition for medium prey like coyotes, I only have for large or small prey, but in case a medium prey appears to me I usually shoot it with a large prey bullet. I could see that the coyote fell but a few seconds later it got up and ran away, I thought it was incredible. I got closer and the pool of blood was quite large, indicating that I hit a vital organ.

I followed the blood trail and after a few meters the coyote was dead.

El ruido que estuve haciendo alertó a un coyote que estaba cerca, así que le di la orden a Rasputín que se echara en un lugar cercano para que no hiciera ruido y yo por mi parte estuve andando lentamente hasta un pequeño arbusto para esconderme y utilizar mi señuelo. Tuve que activar mi señuelo unas tres veces y esperar unos 5 minutos hasta que por fin pude ver al coyote acercándose muy desconfiado.

Al ver que tenía un tiro limpio no dude en disparar pero cometí un error, usé mi rifle con balas para pájaros en vez de un municiones para animales grandes, no estoy cargando municiones para presas medianas como coyotes, solo tengo para presas grandes o pequeñas, pero en caso de que me aparezca una presa mediana acostumbro a tirarle con una bala de presa grande. Pude ver que el coyote cayó pero a los pocos segundos se levantó y se fue huyendo, me pareció increíble. Me acerqué y el charco de sangre era bastante grande por lo cual da indicio que le di en un órgano vital.

Seguí el rastro de sangre y a los pocos metros estaba el coyote muerto.

It turned out to be a female, you know I don't like to kill females, besides for hitting it with a wrong bullet they penalize me, however they gave me a bronze trophy, which is enough, I think they shouldn't give me any.

I continued my way to the west part of the map and approaching the coast I heard some ducks resting, I said to Rasputin "hey, we haven't eaten a duck for a long time", so we went to see if we could catch one. Hunting ducks when they are already in their zone is very difficult, the best thing to do is to wait for them, but in this occasion I had to be very stealthy to get close and be able to see them without being detected.

After a few minutes almost crawling following the sound, I could see about three ducks under a small tree, I spotted the one that gave me a cleaner shot so I aimed, calibrated the sight and shot, instant death. A female that netted me a silver trophy and about $313.

Resultó ser una hembra, saben que no me gusta matar hembras, además por darle con una bala errada me penalizan, sin embargo me dieron un trofeo de bronce, cosa que ya es bastante, considero que no deberían de darme ninguno.

Seguí mi camino hacia la parte oeste del mapa y acercándome a la costa escuché algunos patos descansando, le dije a Rasputín "oye, tenemos mucho tiempo sin comernos un pato no?", así que fuimos a ver si lográbamos cazar uno. Cazar patos cuando ya están en su zona es muy difícil, lo mejor es esperarlos, pero en esta ocasión había que ser muy sigiloso para acercarme y poder verlos sin que me detecten.

Luego de unos minutos casi arrastrándome siguiendo el sonido, pude ver unos tres patos debajo de un pequeño árbol, divisé el que me proporcionaba un tiro más limpio así que apunté, calibré la mira y disparé, muerte instantánea. Una hembra que me permitió un trofeo de plata y unos 313$.

The noise of the gunshot alerted a bear quite close by, it was just making warning calls and I of course hid with my furry companion. I slowly got closer and could see him in the distance. I took a chance by shooting from a distance as I didn't want it to get away from me like the previous one.

El ruido del disparo alertó a un oso bastante cerca, solo estaba haciendo llamados de advertencia y yo por supuesto me escondí con mi compañero peludo. Me fui acercando lentamente y pude verlo a la distancia. Me arriesgué disparando desde lejos ya que no quería que se me escapara como el anterior.

A dark furred male that awarded me a silver trophy and $1312, not bad, we had enough meat. But I still had to go to unlock the points of interest, so I continued on my way and ignored some female elk that came my way.

After a while I could reach the lookout point, beautiful landscapes can be seen from the height. Very close to that place there are several areas of rabbits, turkeys and moose, I checked them all and now I know what time the animals gather in those places.

Un macho de pelaje oscuro que me otorgó un trofeo de plata y 1312$, nada mal, ya teníamos suficiente carne. Pero todavía debía ir a desbloquear los puntos de interés, así que seguí mi camino e ignoré algunos alces hembras que se me presentaron en el camino.

Después de un rato pude llegar al mirador, hermosos paisajes se pueden ver desde la altura. Muy cerca de ese lugar ay varias zonas de conejos, pavos y alces, las revisé todas y ahora sé a que hora se reúnen los animales en dichos sitios.

The other place of interest is a stone column in honor of a mountaineer who was found dead, I found the story interesting, as the guy graduated from college and made a plan to live exploring the mountains for 4 years.

I then headed to my last spot to explore today and on the way I kept hearing several elk, I tried to ignore them as I was on the clock, many hours in these mountains is too exhausting, but a male elk was practically challenging me and I didn't hesitate to accept. I was following his trail while he was making warning noises, I couldn't see him but I knew he was close, until finally I could see him, he was with other females in a resting place.

El otro lugar de interés es una columna de piedra en honor a un montañista que encontraron muerto, me pareció interesante la historia, ya que el tipo se graduó de la universidad y trazó un plan para vivir explorando las montañas durante 4 años.

Luego me dirigí a mi último punto por explorar el día de hoy y en el camino seguí escuchando varios alces, traté de ignorarlos ya que estaba sobre la hora, muchas horas en estas montañas agotan demasiado, pero un alce macho prácticamente me estaba desafiando y no dudé en aceptar. Estuve siguiéndole el rastro mientras hacía ruidos de advertencia, no podía verlo pero sabía que estaba cerca, hasta que al fin pude verlo, estaba con otras hembras en un lugar de descanso.

He didn't fall instantly, he ran away in pain, but when I saw the pool of blood he left behind, I was sure he wouldn't get very far. This time I gave Rasputin the job, I gave him the order to track the prey, he is very fast, I can hardly reach him when he is sniffing the blood. Let's just say the elk wasn't that far away but it wasn't that close either, it turned out to be a light brown furred buck with medium antlers, the trophy he awarded me was silver and about $839.

I continued on my way to the next point to explore and thus have the south western part of the map completely explored and discovered. The final point of my journey turned out to be a hunting post near the coast, arming them cost me 2200$ but that's ok. In my next journey I will continue unlocking the following missing points of the beautiful Balmont.

No cayó al instante, se fue huyendo adolorido, pero al ver el charco de sangre que dejó pude tener la certeza de que no llegaría muy lejos. Esta vez le di trabajo a Rasputín, le di la orden de que rastreara la presa, es muy rápido, casi no puedo alcanzarlo cuando va olfateando la sangre. Digamos que el alce no estaba tan lejos pero tampoco estaba tan cerca, resultó ser un macho de pelaje marrón claro con unas cornamentas medianas, el trofeo que me otorgó fue plata y unos 839$.

Seguí mi camino hasta el siguiente punto por explorar y así tener la parte oeste sur del mapa completamente explorada y descubierta. El punto final de mi recorrido resultó ser un puesto de caza cerca de la costa, armarlos me costó 2200$ pero esta bien. En mi siguiente jornada continuare desbloqueando los siguientes puntos faltantes del hermoso Balmont.
