Hello everyone

Good day everyone and happy weekend, I am very happy to share a diy post on how to replace a Lexus datch board give to my by my customer. This is my first time posting here in this community hope I am being welcome here at the first place.

Before any thing let first of all look at the meaning of datch board
A dashboard (also called dash, instrument panel (IP), or fascia) is a control panel set within the central console of a vehicle Usually located directly ahead of the driver , it displays instrumentation and controls for the vehicle's operation.

After knowing the meaning let get down to business of the day, this work is very creative.
Some people may not have the knowledge on how this is being done but for sure with this post you will fine it simple to make it or if don't done it by your self but at least have and experience on how is being done

Here is the finished dashboard

Let see how I make this creative art work look like this

Step 1
The first thing I did was to lose the dashboard out of the car to my shop, with the help of some spanner 🛠️ and scroll driver

That is the picture of the dashboard inside the car.
With my working tools I carefully loss the nuts and bolts out and also remove all the clips , the redio and all the control from the vehicle and after that I now unplug the wire one after the other

And finally I get it out to the shop

Step 2
The next step is the removal of the old leather, I use my hand with a small knife 🔪 and pill the old leather out and here is the look

Step 3
In this step I use a sandpaper to sand the board so has to remove the old material and also to the the surface coarse so that the guy and hold the new leather tide to the board

After that I use broom to sweep out the dust

The board is now ready to work on

Step 4
We are almost there in this step we select the material we are using for the dashboard although the original colour is dark brown 🟤 but I have checked around and I did not see it so my customer permit me to go with the available material which is this

I loose out the ac components and other things for easy upholstery

IMG_20220426_144329_697.jpg

After that I now use my tape to measure out the length and the wide and the cut it out and place it on my board after that I now apply gum on both the leather and the board

IMG_20220427_123807_340.jpg

And finally gum them today and tight back the things I loose out and here is the out come of it.

IMG_20220427_144444_108.jpg

Wow it look nice and clean. I now take it back to the car and fixed it back

IMG_20220427_161610_468.jpg
Wow this is really beautiful and a very simple steps to follow.
Thanks for going through remain bless and enjoy your weekend.
