Needleworkmonday: steps by steps to sew car seat cover

Hello everyone

How are you all doing, I hope you all are doing great and gas for me I am doing pretty good. I am really very happy to create a post here on this amazing community today. It has been a long time I have not be able to create a post here on Monday due to because it always a new week to me and I always start up a new work on a new week, but today I force my self to do so.

I am always very much happy to share my skill with you guys about what I can do with my hand, it is not something new and by now many people on this community have learn alot from me.

That is the seat I just finished working on now, I started the work on Saturday and Glory be to God it's completed.
This seat was given to me by a friend of my customer and the guy did not have hope in me that I will build up the seat back for him. Because of that coming my shop morning, afternoon to check the progression of the work, but when I finally finished the first seat it was satisfy and he stopping me .

Here was the seat before

I love black seat so much and I always feel so happy when ever my customer bring black seat for me to cover for him. The good of all, you can see a black leather of good quality easy compared to other colours.

The steps for sew this still remain the same has the previous once I have been posting just that the design and the pattern are very different.

Let see how i make this seat come out this beautiful.

Tools needed

  • New leather
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Set of spanners
  • Flat and star screwdriver
  • Clips
  • Pliar
  • Roof material etc

Firstly, I loose that seat from the back for easy measurement. See photo below

After loosing the seat, I then use a sewing tape to take both the vertical and the horizontal distance of each pattern on the seat and then write ✍️ it down

With my new leather, I transfer the measurement to it and then join those points I mark together with the help of long range

Then use scissors ✂️ to cut them out following the line I draw on the new leather

After cutting it out, I then place the cut leather on it position and share the pattern out, after that I gum it to a roof material.

Finally cut it out and my pattern is ready for sewing.

With the help of my sewing machine, I carefully sew those pattern together has it is on the old seat to bring out the original pattern. This is done very simple

Still on sewing process

After sewing it, I then clip the new seat cover to the old seat with the help of clips and pliar

I finally cover the complete body after clipping the center

Finally tight it back to have this beautiful seat see below 👇👇

I do the same to the other side since it was too in number.

That mark the end of this work. Hope you love it.

Comparing the seat before and now you will see the shape are still the same but turn new wow.

Hope it's beautiful. Thanks for your time, let keep on support each other to grow our community.
