The completion of my WIP project on how to sew a RAV4 seat to look new

Hey guys

Virtual greeting to everyone here in this great community, I am very happy to post here today in regards to ongoing contests here on #Needleworkmonday all about wip work. I make an instruction on the process of my wip and how long it will take me to finish, you can easily click here to see my Introduction post of my wip.

Has I mention earlier I love my skill so much and I love to share it with other, he really give me joy.
Let me share with you all the finished work.
Finished work

Before

Look at the finished work you we'll see it looks so beautiful and neat, the original colour of the seat was dark Ash and my customer choose and color combinations just to make the seat look beautiful. He chooses back and red and ask me to design the red for him with thread which I did and it was wow.
The seat was delivered today successfully to the owner and he was so happy and because of this he has given me another of his car to work on. All thanks to God almighty because he is too faithful to me.

I will love to describe some simple steps I follow to make this beautiful wip. I am going to use one of the front seat for my discribe the steps I took. The all have the same steps.

Here is tools I use to make my work successfully

  • sewing machine
  • new leather
  • star and flat screwdriver
  • pliar
  • hand needle
  • roof material
  • upholstery gum
  • sucket spanner etc

Here is my new two leather

The first thing I did was to use my measurement tape to take both the vertical length and the horizontal length of each joining on the seat

After that I now transfer the measurement to my new leather making sure that I observe the horizontal and the vertical length on the new leather. I am using the read at the center

I now use my scissors to cut it out

I now design the red leather with my sewing machine

Then I now place my cut material on my old seat and draw out the pattern and the gum it to my roof material to make it smooth and stronger.

I now cut it out for sewing.

I now use my sewing machine to join those pattern together to form my new seat cover. The sewing is simple and it really need fucus and calculator because you have to know which pattern you are to sew first.

After finishing sewing I now cover the seat the seat with my new seat cover.

Main Seat

The back seat

The both

I now finally tight them back and I have this 👇👇👇

I follow the same process to make the complete seat.
Hope you love it, please comment on the out come of my wip work on car seat. Thanks you so much for stopping by I love you

To make the rhombuses, did you have to mark with chalk first? I once tried it and the deformed lines remained 😂

Very good post, tapestry sewing has always caught my attention, I think it is a good art 😊
