Saved more than 20% while buying CHEAP REWARDS CARDS

Hey everyone! Let me share with you my awesome experience in buying cards using the @peakmonsters BIDS feature. This feature is perfect for those who are willing to wait for cards to come down at their prices, without having to monitor every tick of the card market.

Take note that this post is not a how-to guide in using this feature. If you are looking for a step by step guide, you might want to check out this post that I've made two months ago.

Buying cheap cards at a cheaper price

With the rewards cards now printed at more than 10% of max print, I decided to start levelling up two of my favorite rewards cards: Twilight Basilisk and Naga Assassin. Since there are usually accounts that are willing to sell down these cards, I decided to place a bid instead of paying the price listed in the market.

I placed a bid at the following prices:

  • 7 BCX of Twilight Basilisk at $0.605 per BCX
  • 4 BCX of Naga Assassin at $0.712 per BCX

After placing these bids, I double checked if my bids are accurate then I just waited. I usually hate waiting for lower prices (I don't have the patience), but since I want to maximize my resources this time -- I just have to do it!

Got my cheap cards in just one day

After a day, my bid already got a fill. Since my bid price is not that far from the lowest listing price, my bid was filled pretty fast. What I liked the most about this is there was no more effort needed from me after placing the bid. PeakMonsters took care of everything. I just had took make sure that I have enough DEC in my account for the purchase.

As a huge bonus, I got these cards at much cheaper prices compared to the ongoing listing price and my bids!

Here are the transaction logs for my Twilight Basilisk and Naga Assassin purchase:

In summary, these are the price comparisons for my bid:

Monster
Placed Bid ($/BCX)
Price Bought ($/BCX)
Twilight Basilisk
0.605
0.454
Naga Assassin
0.712
0.613

Breakdown:

  • 2x of 1 BCX Twilight Basilisk at $0.59 (-28% of listing price, -2% of bid price)
  • 5 BCX of Twilight Basilisk at $2.00 (-51% listing price, -33% bid price)
  • 2 BCX Naga Assassin at $1.30 (-29% listing price, -8% bid price)
  • 2 BCX Naga Assassin at $1.15 (-37% listing price, -19% bid price)

This transaction helped me save $1.45 (21% discount) with respect to my bid, and $2.15 (28% discount) vs. the listing price in the market.

While a few dollars of savings is not a life changing amount, I can already buy additional Common and Rare cards with the few bucks that I have saved just by using this feature. Not to mention that there was minimal effort needed to setup these bids.

There you have it! I hope this actual example helped readers further understand how awesome it is to buy cards using the PeakMonsters BIDS feature.

Fair market value bid ish. So far, the best deal I've had is 97% below bid price. I think someone made a mistake. Was worth around $10.

Yeah I remember your post before (in discord I think?) about that. Congrats on that! :)

Nice article! I too managed to rent CP at a more competitive rate than my bid! Bidded for 200 CP/DEC and gotten 240 CP/DEC. 😀

Thanks Relf! Congrats on the cheaper rental! It adds up, so we should always celebrate small wins like this :)

That bid system is really great. A few days ago, I used it to buy a bunch of Pelacor Bandits, and I was impressed with how fast and easy the whole process was. And on top of that, you get a nice deal! I love it.
