Ansar Burney Trust International ~ A Pakistani Non-governmental Organization To The Safety of The Masses.

There many non-governmental organizations in Pakistan that are dedicated to the protection of vulnerable persons but of all, the ANSAR BURNEY TRUST INTERNATIONAL stands out. The reputable non-governmental organization was established in 1980 by the famous Ansar Burney who is an advocate for the less-privileged in the country. ABTI as the organization is popularly called defends the citizens and engages in quick support action for vulnerable citizens in conjunction with government agencies. They engage in strong public advocacies. ABTI is the first non-profit, non-governmental activist organization that introduced the right approach to defending and enlightening the people about their fundamental human rights and how to rise to its defend.
When the organization was established, there was already heightened prevalence of cruel and inhumane degrading treatment meted on some people in the land. Child abuse, cruelty against women and other violations against individuals, especially the weak, downtrodden and poor masses.
At some points in the establishment of the organization, it became a network of human rights organizations synergizing for the advocacy in justice, humanitarian assistance, rights, and freedoms, civil liberties, to raise awareness or public education, provide free legal advice and a host of other social matters that needed support. There was also the advocacy against human trafficking, assisting children employed or forced to smuggle substances or drugs and girls used for commercial sex exploitation.

MISSION OF ANSAR BURNEY TRUST

The organisation is established as a non-profitable, non-governmental and non-political organization, open for all, hence, no discrimination for persons of any affiliation. To fight all kinds of injustices. To work against inhumane and degrading treatment. To advocate against child abuse; and other forms of human and civil rights violations.
From the findings on this work, ABTI has a recorded of achievements in carrying out advocacies for the people of Pakistan. In the below paragraphs, ABTI carried out these debates for free using legal luminary under the employment of the organization to defend the weak and vulnerable. Let’s take a look at some of the areas this organization has performed in recent times.

Debate for Female Prisoners

With her Prison Aid Society, ABTI has worked very hard to ensure the welfare of prisoners especially women whether they are accused or convicted of a crime. The prison services in Pakistan has not taken any serious measure in helping to secure female accused or convicted prisoners. The maltreatment was quite inhuman, this was the reason why ABTI through the founder was very purposeful in supporting such people by engaging the government agencies, if necessary, in the courts.

In some parlance, it was observed that the reports on replacing innocent prisoners were high in some parts of Pakistan. Hence, the Ansar Burney Trust has become the voice of those incarcerated without a fair trial before the law courts.

Government has been urged by the organization to commence over quickly the registration of prisoners into a database for prompt availability in case of any uprising. The database was debated to have the names of those who have not been tried by a law court.

Voice against V.I.P Culture

The commoners or common people, those who are the lowest ebb of the stratification table have suffered a lot in the hands of the high class in the name of categorizing who some social amenities are to be available to, or who should attend some schools and who not to. The inconvenience recorded on this subject was so high before the ABTI took up the initiative to be the voice of the people. There had been times when the hospital doors are closed against the people, the poor even if it were for an emergency. Sometimes, the emergency patients are held up in the tense traffic caused due to road blockages specially made for the VIPs to pass. There was a great effect on the people. ABTI sued the matter of violations of the right of the common man to basic social amenities like hospitals and the like to the Hon'ble High Court of Sindh at Karachi.

###Money Laundering
It is a world perspective that money laundering is a viable means of sponsoring terrorism across the globe and Pakistan's experience is not left out of the indexes that ABTI had used to measure up the scale of corruption that has occurred in recent times across Asia. ABTI has engaged in a continuous fight against social evils to hold up global peace and tranquility.
The organization has called on the government of the fat to expose the new trends and methods adopted by corrupt officials in carting away national treasures to foreign lands for selfish purposes. I think this is one aspect that has put Ansar Burney Trust in the middle of the highly corrupt persons in the Pakistani administration who had continuously woken to the idea of looting and looting public funds and resources for self-aggrandizement It is no more news that the continuous discovery of looting in the public sphere has to encourage militancy among the people. The need to put an end to this has made ABTI take action very quickly and some successes have been recorded over time.

Dangerous Drug Cartel

"Say no to drugs" is a campaign adopted by the Ansar Burney Trust to work against the alarming state of drug abuse among young fellows. Drug peddlers have since come to the notice that the ABTI campaign is rationalizing the thoughts of the users who most times are innocent and not informed of the demeaning consequences of drug usage.
The team at ABTI has from time to time discourage the smuggling and trade of substances that kill future generations and hence open the vulnerable to human trafficking and abuses.

Dangerous Housing Scheme

The center has also advocated equal buying or ownership rights to all Pakistan citizens in the area 9f owning a house among the high rise buildings wic was dominated by government officials or well-to-do citizens.
The sheer violations of human and civil rights as regards the allocation of high breehigh-breeds in areas that are determined to be secluded for the rich. The organization is committed to fighting against injustices in this area.
