I am sending this message to all dads or would-be dads. The responsibilities that are on dads have made many of us lose foresight about our attachment with our wards. Recently, I discovered how passionately my wards want me around them. I never knew until I had to spend a week at home.

The opportunity of having to stay home for a complete week had never come my way. It was also one official duty call.or the other. And I never turned down any of those calls because I wanted to be seen as a responsible worker.

Then, due to the rigorous work, I felt under the weather and my boss asked me to stay away for some time till I was in good shape.

After taking a medical prescription, my health came back normal but I decided to stay home with my wards. It was the most enjoyable time of my life.

Estoy enviando este mensaje a todos los papás o futuros papás. Las responsabilidades que recaen sobre los papás han hecho que muchos de nosotros perdamos la previsión sobre nuestro apego con nuestros pupilos. Recientemente, descubrí cuán apasionadamente mis pupilos quieren que esté cerca de ellos. Nunca supe hasta que tuve que pasar una semana en casa.
La oportunidad de tener que quedarme en casa durante una semana completa nunca se me había presentado. También era una llamada de servicio oficial... o la otra. Y nunca rechacé ninguna de esas llamadas porque quería ser visto como un trabajador responsable.
Luego, debido al riguroso trabajo, me sentí mal y mi jefe me pidió que me mantuviera alejado por un tiempo hasta que estuviera en buena forma.
Después de tomar una receta médica, mi salud volvió a la normalidad, pero decidí quedarme en casa con mis pupilos. Fue el momento más agradable de mi vida.

On the first day on my relaxation at home, the children walked up to me in my bedroom and asked if I had watched the animated movie titled The Nut Job. There was nothing I could say because I have not even seen a movie for a while. Without mincing words, I followed them to the living room where they had already programmed the television.

We watched the movie after breakfast. To tell the truth, it was fun watching the movie with them. I saw the kids displaying their level comprehension of the characters in the movie.

Before I knew it, they went into hiding asking that I come get them. Believe me, I searched everywhere in our apartment but I couldn't find them. I had to ask myself if I am not an occupant of this apartment with my wards.

Returning to the living room, I sat for a moment and started to search around the house again. I saw the pillow on the bed was three instead of two. One of the kids had formed himself into a pillow. That was how I caught the first one who then led me to where the second was hiding.

Before long, my bones were getting stronger.

My wife made lunch. We ate and returned to another kind of game.

El primer día de mi relajación en casa, los niños se me acercaron a mi habitación y me preguntaron si había visto la película animada titulada The Nut Job. No pude decir nada porque ni siquiera había visto una película por un tiempo. Sin pelos en la lengua, los seguí hasta la sala donde ya habían programado la televisión.
Vimos la película después del desayuno. A decir verdad, fue divertido ver la película con ellos. Vi a los niños mostrando su nivel de comprensión de los personajes de la película.
Antes de darme cuenta, se escondieron y me pidieron que fuera a buscarlos. Créeme, busqué por todas partes en nuestro apartamento pero no pude encontrarlos. Tuve que preguntarme si no soy un ocupante de este apartamento con mis pupilos.
Volviendo a la sala de estar, me senté por un momento y comencé a buscar alrededor de la casa nuevamente. Vi que la almohada en la cama era tres en lugar de dos. Uno de los niños se había convertido en una almohada. Así fue como atrapé al primero, quien luego me llevó a donde se escondía el segundo.
En poco tiempo, mis huesos se estaban volviendo más fuertes.
Mi esposa preparó el almuerzo. Comimos y volvimos a otro tipo de juego.

This time, we went to play football as it was already evening. My daughter ran the field more than my son and I. Being a girl, there was little playing football that she could do. We were sweating while the playing lasted.

After that, we sat to relax on the pitch, looking at the sunset. From our end, it was a beautiful sight to behold. Before long, darkness started to fall on the earth as we went in to take a shower.

That night, I ate dinner with my family at a round table and then we retired to bed. You know, I slept like a baby that night and in the morning, my soldiers (children) were already up for another day of fun. I wanted no time leading them on. But this time, we had to clean our environment and do some gardening.

When breakfast was done, we ate and continued till mid-day when we washed and started a game of snakes-and-leather.

In the evening, we strolled through the streets and then returned home to watch our favorite television program. Jokingly, my wife told the children that they do not have time for her again since I started staying home. I never felt the warmth and lofrom these children until I came closer to them before.

Esta vez fuimos a jugar al fútbol porque ya era de noche. Mi hija corría más en el campo que mi hijo y yo. Siendo una niña, había poco fútbol que pudiera hacer. Estuvimos sudando mientras duró el juego.
Después de eso, nos sentamos a relajarnos en la cancha, mirando la puesta de sol. Desde nuestro lado, fue un hermoso espectáculo para la vista. En poco tiempo, la oscuridad comenzó a caer sobre la tierra cuando entramos a tomar una ducha.

Esa noche cené con mi familia en una mesa redonda y luego nos acostamos. Sabes, dormí como un bebé esa noche y en la mañana, mis soldados (niños) ya estaban despiertos para otro día de diversión. No quería tiempo para guiarlos. Pero esta vez, tuvimos que limpiar nuestro entorno y hacer un poco de jardinería.
Cuando terminamos el desayuno, comimos y continuamos hasta el mediodía cuando nos lavamos y comenzamos un juego de serpientes y cuero.

Por la noche, paseamos por las calles y luego regresamos a casa para ver nuestro programa de televisión favorito. En broma, mi esposa les dijo a los niños que ya no tienen tiempo para ella desde que comencé a quedarme en casa. Nunca sentí la calidez y el amor de estos niños hasta que me acerqué a ellos antes.

Before you know it, it was already one week. On Sunday evening, I started feeling like I shouldn't go to work again but work must be attended to because his food comes to the table.

When it was Monday morning, my soldiers were already waiting to tell me they would miss me. I promised to make it up to them and we took a shot to bid ourselves farewell till the next weekend.

Antes de que te des cuenta, ya había pasado una semana. El domingo por la noche, comencé a sentir que no debería volver a ir a trabajar, pero el trabajo debe ser atendido porque su comida llega a la mesa.
Cuando era lunes por la mañana, mis soldados ya estaban esperando para decirme que me extrañarían. Les prometí compensarlos y nos tomamos un trago para despedirnos hasta el próximo fin de semana.
