Innocent Prisoner|

A gentle reminder,
No one lives in here,
And doesn't pass up yonder,
A bridge we must all pass,
Before the books will be opened,
There would be a roster,
Made for the ugly,
Yet beautiful at heart,
Same for the handsome,
Yet wicked in the mind.

He was weak and helpless,
Knows no one in the hierarchy,
His unflinching loyalty was tested,
But highjacked mid way,
Turning the innocent to a liar,
Thief and betrayal,
Whereas the culprit is known,
Now the little poor man will go in his stead,
He wept but the judged locked up,
As the clerk hit the gavel,
Pronouncing the end of judgement,
Where judgment was not served,
But rather sold.

Here we stand,
In our little secret place,
Watching and waiting for two decades,
Our dear friends served for a crime he knows not,
Realised from the maximum cell,
After the agents have found the one,
Whose identify was hidden,
Despite that it was know to them,
But justice is for the highest bidder,
They released him without a benefit,
The world is aware,
His innocence was never in doubt,
Not even in the prison,
He lived happily after his vindication,
This injustice just got a leap,
Another prisoner is on the way.

This happens too many times in our justice system. Once is too many. I wish there were a better way and someday there will be. I just wonder if it will be in our lifetime.
