Queen's College- ZapficMonday Prompt (Cold Feet)
It was 11:40 am when Lucy and her mother got to the gate of Queen's College, Enugu. Lucy is a student in her penultimate year in secondary school. She is the only child of her mother, she was cared for and got a good education.
Walking past the security officials with her mother showing her ID card as they walked to the principal's office. The principal (Mrs. Violet) is a strict woman in her early fifties. She wore her glasses on her nose bridge and always wore dark purple lipstick.
"Good day, principal. I'm sure you know our purpose for coming."
Mother asked.
"Yes, I'm well aware."
She answered.
The principal accepted her admission letter stating the amount to be paid to the school account. Mrs. Iroegbu paid conveniently in the principal's office, after many admonitions from the principal to Lucy to behave herself in the best manner then handed her the tour guide of the college.
Lucy, followed the guide as she waved goodbye to mother and walked to the teachers' lodge. knocking quietly on the door, a girl about her age ran out of the room crying with Miss Vee running after her gasping for breath. Lucy grew goosebumps and became suspicious and skeptical of Miss Vee and every other student from her very first day at the Queen's.
I am sure Miss Vee is one of the disciplinarians in Lucy's school. The newbies are in for a lot of disciplines😁
She is actually but Lucy is just scared not knowing what to think about what she just saw. Maybe her former school isn't as bad as mother felt..
