Self-audit and Time management!

Time management is something I feel like I fail lots at no matter how much I try to address it. I have yet to write it all down and audit myself. I guess I need to try it. Time is something I can never find enough of..

Time management is not that tough if you have good control over your actions. But to be honest, sometimes we became clueless about what's killing our time. And, many times we find ourselves helpless as we run out of time quickly. I would say, self-audit can be a great help on this.

How?

When you get a better idea about where you spend your time you can have control over how you want to spend the time. It can be a small thing like watering your plants. Every single act of us adds up and takes away time from us. We sometimes don't notice the small works. But if we can manage to handle a proper audit it will give us a clear idea about how we should manage our time.

Take a pen & paper. Write down what you usually do for your entire day, include your workday and weekend too.

Add every detail on the list like shampooing your hair to walk your pet.

Point out what important tasks you are missing.

Write down where you think you should spend some more time.

Figure out what's killing your time and not adding much value to your life.

Take help from others to help you out on listing and maintaining your time.

Make a plan as per you want and follow the plan strictly on a trial basis.

Reevaluate your plan to see whether it's helping or not.

Add and skip what you need to make your new plan.

Now you are ready to manage your time properly, I guess. I know it sounds simple but in reality, it's not that simple at all. But remember to not make it complicated to incorporate. Take your time on making the lists of work and auditing your time. And then think about implementing your new time management plan. The time you may spend on the whole process will give you the best result which will lead you to a better life with better control over your time.
