> Hello everyone... Today I would like to tell you about a historical architecture that impressed me and gave me chills at the same time. Although it is not known exactly when this historical building was built, according to many history researchers, it is accepted around 500 AC.In 1267, the Genoese, in alliance with the Byzantine Empire, established a colony called "Pera" in Galata, north of the Golden Horn, and expanded the area of control of this colony over time with permits granted by Byzantium. The tower, which was then called the "Tower of the Holy Cross" because of the cross on its top, was built as part of the fortifications built in the region between 1335-1349 by increasing the area of control towards the hill in the northeast direction in violation of these permits.

The tower, which has been under the rule of states such as the Byzantine Empire, the Genoese and the Ottoman Empire since its construction, has been used for many different purposes. Sometimes it was a lighthouse that guided the ships coming from the sea with the light it emitted, sometimes it was a watchtower for the fires that broke out in some settlements of Istanbul, sometimes it was a military purpose against the enemy, and sometimes it was a dungeon that took away the freedom of some people. Despite everything, today it is used as a historical museum and as a tower that offers a pleasure of watching.

Galata Tower, which is considered one of the oldest towers in the world, has become one of the most important symbols of Istanbul, arousing the curiosity of many local and foreign tourists and attracting them by almost talismanizing them. Every year, an average of one million people go up to the Galata Tower and enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent view of Istanbul. I have personally experienced this pleasure a few times. Galata Tower is perhaps the most beautiful place to watch Istanbul. When I went up to the terrace at the top of the tower, I honestly don't want to pass without saying that I was a little scared 😂
In a way, lovers immortalize their love in the Galata Tower by locking padlocks to the bars on the terrace on the Galata Tower. Unfortunately, I don't have the photos to show you these, but if your way falls to Istanbul, I recommend you not to leave the city without stopping by the Galata Tower. When you get there, you will have the pleasure of watching both the lovers immortalize their love and the unique beauties of Istanbul.
It is also a very beautiful museum that contains unique historical pieces exhibited on the intermediate floors until you reach the highest floor of the Galata Tower. Finally, when you leave the Galata Tower, you can enter the souvenir shop and buy souvenirs from the Galata Tower for yourself and your loved ones.

> Merhaba herkese... Bugün sizlere beni oldukça etkileyen ve bir o kadar da ürperten tarihi bir mimariden bahsetmek istiyorum. Bu tarihi yapının tam olarak ne zaman yapıldığı bilinmemekle birlikte bir çok tarih araştırmacısına göre MS. 500 yıllarında kabul edilmektedir. Bizans İmparatorluğu ile ittifak hâlinde olan Cenevizliler 1267'de, Haliç'in kuzeyinde bulunan Galata'da "Pera" adlı bir koloni kurmuş, bu koloninin hâkimiyet alanını da zaman içinde Bizans tarafından verilen izinlerle genişletmişti. Tepesindeki haçtan ötürü o dönem "Kutsal Haç Kulesi" (Turris Sancte Crucis) olarak adlandırılan kule de, bu izinlere aykırı bir şekilde kuzeydoğu yönündeki tepeye doğru hâkimiyet alanı arttırılarak 1335-1349 yılları arasında bölgede yapılan tahkimatın bir parçası olarak inşa edildi.
Yapıldığı tarihten beri Bizans İmparatorluğu, cenevizliler, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu gibi devletlerin hakimiyeti altında kalan kule bir çok farklı amaç için kullanılmıştır. Yeri gelir denizden gelen gemilere saçtığı ışıkla onlara yol gösteren bir fener kulesi, yeri geldiğinde istanbulun bazı yerleşkelerinde çıkan yangınları gözetleme kulesi olarak, yeri gelir bir askeri amaçla düşmana karşı, bazende bazı insanların özgürlüğünü elinden alan bir zindan olmuştur. Her şeye rağmen günümüzde tarihi bir müze ve seyirlik bir zevk sunan bir kule olarak kullanılmaktadır.

Dünyanın en eski kulelerinden bir kabul edilen galata kulesi İstanbulun en önemli simgelerinden biri haline gelmesi ile bir çok yerli ve yabancı turistin merakını uyandırarak adeta onları tılsımlayarak kendine çeker. Her yıl ortalama bir milyon insanın galata kulesine çıkarak istanbulun muazzam manzarasına panoramik bir bakışla seyir zevki yaşamaktadır. Ben bizzat bir kaç defa bu zevki tattım. Belki de İstanbul'u izlemek için çıkılacak en güzel yerdir Galata Kulesi. Kelenin en yukarısında bulunan terasa çıktığımda ise açıkcası biraz korktuğumu söyleyemeden de geçmek istemiyorum.😂

Malesef bunları size gösretecek fotolar elimde yok ancak yolunuz istanbula düşerse Galata Kulesine uğramadan şehirden ayrılmamanızı tavsiye ediyorum. Oraya vardığınızda hem aşıkların aşklarını ölümsüzleştirdiğini hem de istanbulun eşsiz güzellikleri seyretme zevkine varırsınız.
Ayrıca Galata Kulesinin en yüksek katına çıkana kadar ara katlarında sergilenen birbirinden eşsiz tarihi parçaları da bünyesinde barındıran çok güzel bir müzedir. En sonunda Galata Kulesinden ayrılırken hediyelik eşya dükkanına girerek hem kendinize hem de sevdiklerinize Galata Kulesinden hatırılar alabilirsiniz.
> UNESCO bu tarihi yapının eşsiz güzelliği karşısında kayıtsız kalamamış ve 2013 yılında DÜNYA MİRAS LİSTESİNE alınarak bir bakıma galata kulesinin dünyanın en güzel sembollerinden bir olduğu tescil edilmiştir.
