It's the day where that certain Brgy. or small village was founded. Just like any other celebration, it would be nice if the fun of that day would last longer. Would it be nice not to end the day immediately because everyone wants to have fun? That's why a lot of parlor games should be made to see bigger smiles and enjoyment from the citizens.

It has been going on every year in our Brgy. We celebrated it once a year but 2 years ago it was postponed because of covid or pandemic matters. Of course, the people were longing for that kind of event where everyone in the Brgy. was looking forward to this. Now, I don't want to wait for you any longer, and let me show you the images of the parlor games. I will explain to you about the games and just see them through the images and how fun it was. Don't worry, at the end, there's a video where live reactions from the people can be seen.

SACK RACE

Played by two groups depends on how many numbers of the participants. The important thing is there will be a competitor or two teams will play this game so the game will be exciting. This time the officials made the game relay by the 5 participants to reach the finish line. The distance was divided among 5 participants so even if it's kind of far and hard because they're using a sack in reaching the finish line. It became easier and less tiring.

To reach the finish line all participants get themselves inside the sack and move of course, through jumping. It was hard I'm telling you because of the sack but anyway it's super fun.

Eggplant and egg

Using an eggplant to move the boiled egg was fun to see. It was the first time I saw it and it was really fun. Of course, it should be played with women to make the game more fun. There's a certain distance that may be approximately 3 to 5 meters away from the starting point to reach the finish line.

There were 6 participants and all of them tied the eggplant by a knot or something. The eggplant hung in between their both legs but made sure not to touch the ground. Moving it by the use of the eggplant was hard because they couldn't touch it. Moving their hips forward and backward was the best way to move the egg. It took longer to decide who was the winner because moving the boiled egg was not easy. lol

Boat Race (Men and Women Division)

This time it was not being played through teams but by individuals. Like any other race, there should be a starting line and of course a finish line. The shore was the finish line and from that approximately 100 meters far from the sea was the starting line. Being watched by the officials to initiate the game well.

There were two divisions, women and men but I'll just unite them through words and images.

Maria Went to Town (Men and Women's Division)

Two teams played this game and at least 5 minimum participants. This game was just played through walking and of course at the finish line. From the name of the game itself, it is like imitating how Maria went to the town.

In front of each time, there were clothes, an umbrella, a basket, and high heel sandals. They wore them all and started walking to that guide chair where they went back from the place they started. Just like Maria, a countrywoman, they should be seen as elegant. From the way they walked, carrying that basket and holding that umbrella. They should act like a countrywoman who is just visiting the town. Well, watch the video below for you to learn how fun this game was too.

Drinking 1 liter of Beer

There were 6 men adults who participated in this game. The main goal was to empty that bottle of beer. The one who was faster was the winner. There are not many twists or something different about this kind of game. Although it was just fun to watch because of the faces of the participants who were having a hard time drinking that 1 liter beer instantly. See the video below for you to know that it didn't take a long time before emptying the bottle.

Drinking 1 liter of Softdrinks

This time the game was played by the girls. Perhaps 1 liter of Coca-Cola or Pepsi was too much for a woman to drink. The Brgy. officials decided for every 1 liter of bottle 2 women would cooperate. Who drinks it all was the winner of course. lol

Hitting the Cone

Oh, I just love this kind of game that was being played when I was younger. How could I not love this game when I tried it in my younger days. I can tell how fun this game was to join in. It was fun to see children trying their best to hit that cone even though they were being blindfolded. So it was not easy to hit the cone because there's a twist to it. Let me now tell you how this game was played.

Approximately 10 steps away the cone was hanging. Every participant was blindfolded and needed to turn around 5 times. The participant will be given a baseball bat or just an ordinary piece of wood to hit the cone and destroy it. Even though the people who hosted it will guide you straight to that cone it's hard to tell if it's time to hit. That's why this game was fun because the participants will walk around hoping to hit that cone.

Palosebo

I'm not sure if it's a Tagalog word or what but I know for sure it's not Bisaya where it's my native language. Even though I don't understand this word I will tell you my understanding of this game and why it was called that way. So the "palosebo" game is climbing to a slippery bamboo tree. The reason they will climb it is that there's a flag above or anything to get to decide who is the winner.

This is not an easy game because of the oil that gets the bamboo slippery. Actually, it took more than an hour before someone got the flag above. Though I must say this game was the most fun to see of them all. That's why in every Brgy. Day or a festive there's always this kind of game to play. If the pictures are not enough consider it fun.
