Mainit (Hot) Spring

When I heard about this hot spring located a little bit far from our town, it got me interested. Hot springs are not always to be found. Also, from what I heard it is good for your body. I don't have references for this but I just thought that way.

We traveled quite far from the national road because it's what was expected. A hot spring is located in the mountain part since this hot water is created when there's a volcano. Let's just be thankful because if a volcano doesn't steam for sure it could be dangerous.

The location is currently developing after typhoon Odette almost 2 years ago. However, that's what makes the hot spring look spectacular because of its provincial view. Surrounded by trees, plants or to summarize, it's like a forest.

It's not just a hot spring there, there's also a river flow above. If there is no river, I doubt people can enjoy a hot spring. Imagine, for a higher degree of heat like your skin will be burned. There is no way someone would want that. Thanks to that river, the cold water mixed with the hot water so that people could relax.

The entrance fee is 40 pesos or $ 0.90. Actually, it's not the good establishment that makes this spring beautiful. As you can see it's not fully developed. Cottages, houses, and water you can enjoy are still under construction. People come here because of the hot spring for sure. Maybe include the small river as well since the flow of water is strong.

If you want to be here, you should bring your own food. For now, they don't have anything to offer but only the spring. There are soft drinks, beers, and liquors but they do not have cold drinks. When I asked the cashier, she said their refrigerators were still defective. They have an electric supply but don't offer it yet to the people there.

It's not a good place for a classy person but for someone who wants adventure, this place is good. 1 km away from the spring where you can park your vehicle. Then you need to walk that distance to reach the spring. The road is rocky, so you'd have a hard time walking on it. Also, the road goes down and then goes up. Well, it's always like that when you are in the mountains.

You can do camping here as well since there's a wide vacant space.

So the Mainit in the Bisaya dialect means Hot. Obviously, it's a hot spring so they just named it according to our own dialect.

What a beautiful area
I do believe hot springs are good for ones health, back when I lived in NZ I used to visit hot pools often

Thanks for joining the Wednesday, its always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks
