When you have to go out and take pictures anyway./ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, friends of #blackandwhite, how’s it going? A few days ago, I woke up excited to go out and take some photos, but the weather wasn’t on my side; it looked like it was going to rain everywhere, but I told myself: “What if it doesn’t rain?!” I can’t afford to stay home, so I’m going out anyway.

Mis saludos, amigos de #blackandwhite, ¿cómo va todo? Hace pocos días me levanté eufórico por salir a hacer fotos, pero el clima no me favorecía; aparentemente, deseaba llover por todos lados, pero me dije: ¡¿Y si no llueve?! No me puedo permitir quedarme en casa, así que salgo de todas formas.

And guess what, I was right; in the end, the sky cleared up and not a single drop fell—there was even some intense sunshine.

Y miren que estaba en lo cierto; al final el cielo se despejó y no cayó ni una gota, hasta tremendo sol hubo.

But I didn’t go to my usual spot, Old Havana, instead I continued exploring the residential neighborhood of Nuevo Vedado.

Pero no fui a mi sitio habitual, que es La Habana Vieja, sino que continué explorando el barrio residencial Nuevo Vedado.

The area is quite different from the city’s oldest part—some might say it’s more modern—but what’s undeniable is how much I’m drawn to its architectural, historical, and personal details; there’s truly a bit of everything.

El sitio tiene sus diferencias con respecto a la zona más antigua de la ciudad, más moderno dirían algunos, pero lo que sí es innegable es cómo me atraen sus detalles arquitectónicos, históricos, subjetivos; vaya que hay de todo.

And so I spent the morning and part of the afternoon, walking and walking, with a coffee break in between, of course, and the joy of having been able to take these photos.

Y así pasé la mañana y parte de la tarde, caminando y caminando, café intermedio, por supuesto, y la felicidad de haber podido hacer estas fotografías.
